Yeah, I couldn't figure out why Chaz would die other than a tactic of "keep the town quiet"! - I was impressed by the strategy because it doesn't give away much, while also crippling the town. It was really well done, kudos. I was definitely expecting to die the night Ant took my bullet (Thanks Ant! Felicitous ), but more because I was doing lots of talking and had helped get Zag lynched than because I thought my initial analysis had been dead-on! I was hoping for a doctor, even the one-shot type, because I thought I'd done enough to "prove" my innocence. I got my wish, but unfortunately lost Ant, who I think would have been a huge asset to have kept around.

You also did a great job reacting to my hurling suspicion at you, you were so reasonable and chill about the whole thing that I started to doubt myself pretty seriously.

Re: my last post, reading it again I think maybe hindsight has clarified my "suspicion". While I definitely suspected Elayne and Alfie, I suspected IS more. Once Sofis (hopefully) confirmed that he had a normal townie PM, I was going to suggest that we simply lynch all of IS, Elayne, and Alfie - the ones who reacted suspiciously to Zag's claim (Sofis didn't really get a chance to show a real reaction, due to Zag's slip) - because with me, Quail, mole, and hopefully Sofis on side, town could keep the majority for however many lynches they needed to take out the scum, in whatever order. It allowed for one of IS/Elayne/Alfie not being evil, if there weren't four mafia, while still allowing us the victory.

Ugh, why didn't I just bust all this out without 100% certainty?! I even consciously stayed quiet at the end of my last day in order to not distract from the fact that I'd asked Sofis a question, leading to a multi-day town silence and IS' hammer. Evil or Very Mad Now I don't feel like I had a great game anymore, hehe.

Yeah, we should have lynched Sofis.

Elayne: I knew you were scum (granted, I suspected everyone, but let's ignore that for my ego.)
Also, your method of play lead to a very boring last day. Razz

Chaz, I didn't think it would be quite like that! I actual expected more posts, but of a I am not really sure who is guilty variety or a let's not end the day too quickly. Then I could try to lead them in a direction that was to my benefit. I posted some analysis, including the day 4 one which hugely incriminated Alfie (and was actually showing Zag's and Alfie's real strategy) and hopefully caused some doubts that we were working together. I think it helped my case with Sofis and mole. Once we got more then halfway through the day, I was expecting to see some votes, but was hoping to balance them for a no lynch at the last minute if we couldn't get a vote on a townie.

Mackey, I find it amusing how you thought my calling Zag's claim too elaborate was suspicious. I KNEW the role the genric townies got included no flavor text and my too elaborate comment was in reponse to IS's how was I supposed to know Zag was lying. It was my attempt at indicating my townie PM was nothing like Zag's claim with out referring to the sample PM or claiming outright. Just goes to show that people take things in different ways.

I was about to come out and say all of this as soon as Sofis answered my final question before my death - that's why I asked him to be explicit about what he thought was wrong with Zag's claim or however I framed the question. I was a bit worried that the little incident with Hy's talking about role PM text being in the opening post would turn him off considering it evidence in this case, though. Either way, I never got to find out - IS got hammered and I died. Felicitous Bah!

Funny thing is, I was in the process of writing that post when the last vote fell. Not that I would have had anything particularly coherent to say. I really am pretty terrible at Mafia. Felicitous

I'd say well done mafia. Having the awful play of IS to manipulate must really have helped though...

In my defence, I honestly thought I was Sofis. I have no idea where that confusion came from. My PM says 'Kitakaze', my brain said 'Sofis'.

Thanks for clearing that up, amb, because I seriously couldn't figure out what you were on about.
Town blew chunks this game, especially the day after I died. It should've been obvious that I'm going to protect Mackay - I specifically stated that I trust her completely. I thought about pushing it further and using the words "protective" and "Mackay" in a sentence, but I was worried the Mafia would catch on to me. In any case, once you have Mackay/Antrax (confirmed innocent and practically confirmed innocent), maybe it's a good idea to re-read their posts? Elayne's brushing of "yeah, the deaths served me EXCEPT FOR LUNA SO YOUR THEORY BLOWS" should've been a give-away. I was less sure about Alfie, but I thought once it's obvious the accusations against Elayne weren't made by scum, they'd be followed on.
And not mass-claiming this day was just stupid, sorry to say, but by that point the game had stagnated completely.

Oh I would have said more then that Antax had anyone pressed me but I didn't want to appear overly defensive when it was just a few people making comments but not voting.

Yes, IS hammering DP made life easier for us.

Congrats scum, thanks mith.

If there is sufficient interest, I can run a follow-up game.

I'd be willing to play.

I'd also be willing to sit out if it deterred others from playing.

Well done mafia. Alfie was completely off my radar until IS was lynched, and while I had lots of doubts about Elayne I couldn't get a solid reason to vote for her.

Yeah, I'm not sure why I wasn't lynched much earlier. I made plenty of mistakes, but people just chalked it up to inexperience (which wasn't entirely wrong). Well, that and the people on the right track toward the mafia tended to die. Revenge most foul!

The Mackay switch really hurt as well. Mackay shows up and with her very first post outs two scum. Extreme Delectation At that point, we couldn't very well NK her. She'd only said one thing so far; killing her would give it absolute credence.

Overall, I'm significantly more pleased with this game than the first game. In that one, I was night killed before I posted for the first time. Revenge most foul!

I guess I did pretty well too! Being killed in the endgame is a much better result than dying before the game even begins.
