Is she? I think she played pretty much the same in the other game that we played in with her. She chimed in with an opinated post as soon as she had reviewed the thread.

On a side note... I find it a little interesting that you didn't go look up "IGMEOY" when IS used it in reunion--which is when I went to look it up; I'm not saying it's "scummy", just interesting.

Are you serious? I currently (as of this post) have thirty-three posts in this thread. Three of them are votes. That's under ten percent of my posts casting votes.

To say "all he does is jump from one player to the next" is ridiculous. I'm a hyper-active player, but I've certainly done more than "jump from person to person." I've posted reasons, I've role claimed, I've bread-crumbed the very nature of my role description.

You've posted ten times, four of which were votes (though one wasn't a valid vote, it's clear from your second vote that you thought it was.) That's 40% of your posts, and you've switched your vote one more time than I have.

It's clear that you're scum, and you're pathetic attempt at redirecting the focus from your scum buddies has been noted. Razz

First off one of my votes was just a random vote and really held no merit except to get the game started. Secondly I have strong evidence as to why i voted you and MNO....And thirdly I dont recall you role claiming, but if yur really did claim on day 1 then thats not very smart and screams scum to me

Seriously Snik... your logic would only make sense in Neverland. You're either scum, or you're really really bad at mafia. You're guilty of all the reasons that you're suspicious of me for... more importantly, that's the entirety of the content of your posts. There is really only one thing you've done thus far that wasn't scummy. I think it's what Mackay noticed and then held back on talking about; I do think it would be a pretty brilliant strategy for mafia to attempt, and I don't think you're a good enough player to be trying that, so I assume it's a legitimate n00b mistake.

I still think it best to put some pressure on MNO right now. Let's see how he handles it?

By the way... @Mackay... It was probably me who suggested the Zag/sAb team... I said sAb may have posted it so that he could later point back and say, "i told you I was positive Zag was Mafia."
I do think it would be quite funny.

I still stay on MNO because I think it's obvious that he wants a fast lynch, and I see that as excitement to get to night... I hadn't considered until just now that he might have a power role as well...

Hmmmm. See that Mackay? Insightful!

What is the point of putting pressure on me? You gonna get me to crack? Take a look at my other games. I am usually screaming until they Lynch me anyway, whether I'm town, or scum.

Getting to a Day One Lynch, gets us information. Usually nothing good comes from Day 1 until we get to Day 2. About Snik, and what Mackay had said, I am thinking in the same lines that you are. Guilty or innocent, I'm looking towards Day 2 interrogation of Snik.

You're right; I don't know you well enough. From what others have said, you seem like a less caustic version of IS. I think that, in and of itself, is plenty of reason to lynch you if there isn't another good choice.

MNOWAX wrote:

Correct! However, all of that good information comes from analyzing the discussion from day one. There isn't any good argument to rush past the discussion and get to the lynch.

I agree, and advise you to put some pressure on KradDrol for now. He needs to explain his actions that Mackay pointed out.

Huh. I was thinking Snik said this was his first game of mafia in the sign up thread. It was actually Sentran who said it however. I still think Snik isn't brilliant enough to pull off the strategy, but now I'm more inclined to believe that he might be.

Uhh, I think he's saying he's left hints which are not obvious, but which he will be able to point back at if/when he claims, to say, "see? I didn't just make up this role on the spot." I do find it strange that Chaz would tell everyone that he was breadcrumbing, when as far as I know, breadcrumbing is seen as a scummy thing to do.
Chaz on the whole is dropping lower and lower on my scumometer (rhymes with thermometer, not meter). I find it hard to believe that a mafia member would be so active and polarizing in the discussion.

Sniklac16, on the other hand, is acting more and more scummy. A townie has to look for evidence of their innocence, while a mafioso has to make stuff up about their innocence. And it looks like Snicklac16 is doing nothing but making stuff up.

I don't really know why it's a commonly held idea that switching votes day 1 is scummy. It's been years since I've played regularly, but as far as I can tell it's a pretty random behaviour that people like to point at and yell at each other about.

I think Snik is learning how to play mafia this game, rather than scummy. I hope I don't have to eat my words about this, because I haven't seen some miraculous sign as Chaz seems to think! More of a lack thereof, really, and a different interpretation of some "suspicious" behaviour. And the fact that I'm pretty sold on Drak/sAb too, I guess.

Anyway, Zag, I wholly admit that I do in fact vote more frequently when I'm not afraid of being at lynch-or-lose. Felicitous At this point I am unlikely to switch again, though, unless a bandwagon forms on sAb - I would definitely like to see one of the two who are linked together go.

Amb: could you fix the quote tag in Chaz' post at the top of this page? A quote from Zag is attributed to me.

It's really interesting to see how fast the bandwagon went from Chaz to Sniklac in a short amount of time. I'm going to try to look back and see who switched their vote, since I can't imagine everyone who switched their vote is town.

Current theory: Chaz is scum and his scum buddies were bussing him, but then Sniklac made a suspicious move and his buddies are bandwagoning Sniklac.

For now, I'm going to vote: Chaz

Well when I looked back, the only players that switched their vote from Chaz to Sniklac were Quailman, Dragon Phoenix, and Mackay. I'm going to try to rethink my analysis on these guys since I wasn't too suspicious of them, but then I might be using bad logic and they could all be town.

Disagree. If all the town players are acting like followers then a mafia player acting like a leader would lead to an easy mafia victory.

Very interesting remark, since it is glaringly obvious that IF sniklac is scum and chaz not, there is a good chance that all sniklac switch voters are town. That you could not see this for yourself suggests that you may be blocked in this line of thinking because you know that snik is town. And only scum know that.

For now, I still prefer a sniklac lynch, but I got my eye on you.

I find it interesting that after Mackay tries voting for Sniklac, less than twenty minutes later, Mackay switches to vote me. Chaz immediately follows after.

And all of this immediately after a wagon for Sniklac starts forming. This could either be scum tactics to divert attention from Sniklac, or maybe even just on Mackay's part since Chaz seems to be following her every word. Especially since Mackay's reasoning for voting me is thin at best. I also agree that I find it suspicious that a role that Amb had originally mentioned would be modkilled is suddenly replaced instead. As stated earlier, probably not a big deal, but still something to think about.

The three most suspicious people on my list at the moment are Sniklac, Mackay, and Chaz.

At the moment, I'm sticking with my vote for Sniklac. Everything else that I suspect can't be backed up with evidence, but only from interpretation of their forum postings. Sniklac's L-1 vote however, is a concrete action, and one that smells fishy to me. Mackay however, is playing very strangely as well. I still can't get a read on Chaz, and his posting behavior just doesn't ring any alarm bells for me, but the fact that he's following around Mackay like a puppy on a leash is...weird.

My favourite thing about this post is the clumsy attempt at rhetoric. It doesn't matter how many ways you find to say that Chaz is following me, it still doesn't make it true. He voted the same way as me one time, after initially disagreeing and our having a small discussion about it. It makes about the same amount of sense as my saying that you're following Silverfire around because you were the next person to vote Snik after (s?)he did. (Disclaimer: I don't actually think that, because that would be stupid.)

I also love that your idea of diverting attention from Snik is rapidly voting and unvoting him. Yeah, I would sure do that in an attempt to make myself look less scummy, I'm sure it would totally work. The switch was because I reread the thread and saw you getting all offended that sAb got a vote - a point to which you still have not responded. If it is "thin at best" you should have no trouble explaining to us how you magically knew that sAb was joking and why you felt responsible enough for his actions to explain that to the town. (Though at this point I wonder whether I'm not still giving you too much credit and it was instead a timid distancing tactic from Chaz. Either way, lynching you is a positive.)

It's also nice that you're pointing out "interesting" things about my posts, but are too scared to actually vote me, I think it's "interesting" that you clearly don't want to be the initiator of a bandwagon on an innocent. Also, I have clearly joked in at least two of my posts! Why aren't you white-knighting me? Razz

Amb: please do change that quote tag at the top. Also... missing sAb's vote was pretty scummy. Don't think I'm not crazy enough to try to lynch the mod, y0 diggity.

No change in my thinking, but I will sum up how I feel about each player right now. (the number after their names is the number of posts they've posted.) Of course these are all in my opinion and what read I'm getting off of people. You can assume the words "I think..." in front of each observation.

  • Chaz (37) Clearly he's a loose cannon who probably won't make it through the first night just out of self preservation on the part of any role with the ability to kill.
  • DP (4) He seems pretty in tune with the game.
  • KradDrol (8) He's avoiding Mackay's question, or he doesn't understand it. I think he should be pressured and answer it.
  • Mackay (12) She's usually pretty insightful and points out things that I miss. Her level of play is almost as fast paced as mine, so it's nice to have her in a game.
  • MNOWAX (9) Scum or useless to town.
  • Quailman (5) He seems pretty in tune with the game. (DP and Quail seem to mirror each other, but I don't think it's a scum link; I think it's a GMTA link.)
  • ralphmerridew (2) Hmmmmmm... that's awfully quiet isn't it? Does anyone know ralph well enough to know if he's usually this quiet?
  • sAbLLimINal (7) He's acting like he's from scumCity, but he could well be from n00bCity. I don't know him well enough.
  • Sentran (11) I think he's innocent and paying attention; him and Mackay are probably the only two who will read this whole post.
  • Silverfire (4) His "bread-crumbing is scummy" comment through me for a loop. Other than that, he's kinda quiet, and not doing anything mention worthy...
  • Sniklac16 (12) He's sitting in a tree kay eye es es eye en gee ing MNOWAX. Scum, or useless to town.
  • Undercover Monk (5-1) Doesn't seem too interested in the game one way or the other. He did say he's writing a paper, so maybe that's why.
  • Zag (13) He's very smart, but he doesn't pay attention to things unless they are directed at him. Reminds me a bit of myself sometimes, and reminds me a bit of Antrax other times. He'd probably disagree about both parts. Am I right Zag? Ecstatic Happiness I bet this is the only part of my post he'll read until he reads this part, and then I bet he'll want to post that he read the part that I said only Mackay and Sentran would read.

My vote stays on KradDrol for now. Why did you jump to Zag's defense like that?

LOL simulpost. OK, now it looks like you're following me *nudge*

I wanted to add:
Amb said that the role would be modkilled at the end of the day if he didn't find a replacement, and Krad's saying that the intent was to modkill but it "suddenly" got changed to a replacement is either horrendously inattentive or blatantly lying. It reads to me like a desperate appeal to Sentran's meta-suspicion.

This is so very telling, and I didn't even think about it 'till you pointed it out.

Krad... Do you really think that Amb said the role would be mod-killed at the end of the day, and then changed his mind when Mackay wanted to play? Do you really think we should be "thinking about it?" That's ridiculous on so many levels, man. Why wouldn't Amb *just* mod-kill the role if he was going to mod kill it? Why would he put a time limit on it? You're inventing reasons to suspect Mackay, and they're not even good reasons.

See, the thing is, if I vote for someone after someone's posted an analysis, I usually don't go to the effort to compliment them incessantly for their work. You could probably tell Chaz to jump off a bridge right now and he'd think it was a good idea.

Also, granted that I don't think we had a chance to play together before I had to leave, you should know that I don't place my vote lightly. We have FoS for a reason. Aside from the first vote on UM which frankly, I did because I haven't been here for awhile and it was good to say hi again, I have not placed a vote on *anyone* aside from the person who put Chaz at L-1.

Finally, your argument may have carried more weight if it wasn't for the fact that my post was the 17th of the entire thread. At that stage, where people are still saying hi and joking around, and then to have someone start obsessing and jumping all over a single post made in jest? That wouldn't raise some red flags for you? Perhaps not, because that's exactly what you're doing here.

You're ignoring the fact that any reasonable person would see that sAb's post was a joke. You're wilfully blinding yourself to the context of my posts and my opinion is that it's because you're trying to start a drumhead on someone not named Chaz or Sniklac.

Which means we must be on the right track here.

Actually, you kind of have a point here--that Mck might want to consider. You don't know this about me, but I'm not always inclined to take the most reasonable path. Sometimes I take the sketchy path. Mck knows this, Zag knows it, anyone who played in reunion knows it, but you probably didn't know it.

I don't think I would have even considered it at all, until Mackay offered her counter argument, and now I'm curious as to why Quail (who is usually pretty quiet about things) is chiming in.

Here, I'm actually going after Mackay's neck. Ecstatic Happiness The thing I "wouldn't have considered" is the fact that Amb was so quick to replace the role. I figured (as Quail did) that Amb replaced it because the PM hadn't been checked yet (as Amb said.) It didn't set off any alerts until I felt that Mackay felt threatened enough by it that she responded--which she should have, but she was offering counter arguments instead of just "you're an idiot". Then Quail (who, admittedly, came to the same conclusion that I came to) chimed in to say what he thought. I didn't feel compulsed enough to chime in about Mackay, and Quail is usually pretty silent. Like I said earlier... I'm probably psyching myself out here... though... if you're going to point out reasons that I'm Mackay's puppy dog, check your facts. In this (a full third of your cited reasoning) I was actually attacking Mackay, so it definitely shouldn't be used as reasoning supporting your theory. If anything, you should have used it to show me distancing myself from Mackay. Maybe you didn't consider that because you somehow knew Mackay and I aren't scum together? Wink

Chaz - he was protecting sAb, not Zag, I think - though he posted in response to a sAb/Zag post, so there's a definite Zag link also.

Krad - you forgot to address the part where you lied about Amb Felicitous

Is Zag on your suspicion list? I'm just wondering, because if asking for my analysis is a suspicious activity nowadays, I'm pretty sure he did it first. Chaz likes my reasoning because it has a basis in reality, unlike repeating "he's following her!" over and over, or claiming that our mod tried to modkill someone, then changed their mind to save a mafioso or something.

Your third quote from Chaz is one in which he was actively voicing suspicion of me. Did you even read the whole post, or were you too busy finding the juiciest selective quotes out of context?

I am not blinding myself to anything, You stated definitively that sAb was "making a joke". You behaved defensively on sAb's behalf. You are now retroactively assigning your post an argument which you could easily have expressed at the time. You chose to speak for sAb instead of focusing on the fact that it seemed early to be diving into deep analysis.

SCUM TELL!!!! Confirm Vote Chaz

Seriously though. I am enjoying all the finger-pointing thats going on, but the reality is that we should be pushing someone to the noose. My gut is still Chaz, he's talking like a scum-leader. I would support a lynch of Chaz, Kraddrol, Snik, and rm.

Le Sigh. MNO, you should try reading the posts instead of just glancing at them in search of something you can use to cast suspicion. You don't know the "head stomping" reference, clearly, but do you honestly think I would post something so blatantly scummy in nature if there weren't an inside joke involved? Is there any way that my comment could be read as non-scummy (after I've already claimed vanilla), without it being an inside joke? I can't think of one, and I'd have to be a fool to have posted it; I'm crazy, sure, but I'm not foolish.

Currently, I wouldn't support a lynch of anyone. I would like to see KradDrol and Mackay continue discussions. I think KradDrol is keeping quiet because he doesn't want to say the "wrong" thing, and I think that's the biggest scum tell of all. I always find Quail and DP at least a little scummy for this very reason. You seem to want to lynch just anyone and everyone. You reek of scum intentions.

Le sigh double. Chaz, you should try reading posts and/or acquiring a sense of humor. He even says "Seriously, though" right after it. (This is an indication that someone has just made a joke. Perhaps you were unaware?) I'm not going to go out on a limb to defend MNOWAX, but at least his behavior has been in character with his other games in which he was a townie.

You never answered this. You responded to Silverfire's comment on this note, but not on the note itself. (BTW, I agree with you that Silverfire's comment makes no sense. Why would breadcrumbing be scummy?)

I see that you've said since that you are vanilla townie, but I'd still like you to point to your original declaration, the one that predates your post I was originally quoting. If you don't, yet, want to point out your breadcrumbs, I understand, though I would like to see them if you're willing to point them out. I don't really see the point in "breadcrumbing" a role of vanilla townie, but I assume that you are just referring to the role name.

I have to say that I've been reading everything that has gone by, and I really haven't seen anything to change my mind. I continue to find Chaz to be the most scummy, though there are new a few contenders for the position. I still feel that he is being overly defensive; he is working too hard to get suspicion to stick to other people; his style and posting rate are different from how he played in the 10-year reunion game; and his arguments just sound hollow.

Then he went on to (basically) say "we need to be pushing Chaz to the lynch." That suggests that he's doing more than making a joke; he's being irrational. That means he's either scum, or useless town. No?

I will officially answer your question: "I'm not going to answer your question." Anyone who has a townie role should already have seen my crumbs; anyone who doesn't have a townie role, definitely shouldn't have them pointed out to them. I will answer the second part however... I claimed vanilla townie in post 81.

Zag wrote:

I was bread-crumbing the nature of my role, and I think at least one person could have caught it, since I think that person was also bread-crumbing, and it matches the theme of my role.

I mean keeping quiet in a "won't explain himself" kind of way. It feels like you're not too busy to post, you're just unwilling to answer.

I wrote:

Can you answer these questions? Note that "I just made a mistake" is a perfectly good reason. "I wasn't paying that close of attention" is a good reason. "I just don't care" is a good reason. Mostly, I want to know what to expect from you as the game progresses. I want to give you a chance to hint about your role. I want you to take a stance on something. The more you avoid taking a stance, the more suspicious I'll grow of you.

After that, feel free to delete this post. Thanks Ol' Bean.

Not too mention the fact thats hes continulously seeking counsel from Mackay. I've been saying it since almost the very beginning Chaz seems the most scummy. And I'll admit i'm not the worlds greatest mafia player nor the most experience but i try. I believe we should lean towards a Chaz lynch, and if theres a cop in the game im hoping he/she will inspect me to prove my innocence. But for now we need to kill us some scum Revenge most foul!
