Round 3 begins the way Round 2 ended, with Chaz starting a machine. He fires up the blue...

$1000...
$2000...
$3000...
$4000...BZZZT!

Bad luck, picking one of the lowest 3 values left in the game. MatthewV takes his turn, stepping in front of the Frost machine.

$1000....BZZZZT!

Even worse luck! The machine breaks barely after being turned on, shorting out at 1k. Let's see if Scot has better luck in the Dirt.

$1000...
$2000...
$3000...
$4000...
$5000...
$6000...
$7000...
$8000...
$9000...
$10,000.....>BZZZZT!

Looks like Puzzlescot was trying to make up for his negative start, but the machine only had 10k in it. Will bgg1996 break this scoreless streak on the Black machine?

$1000....
$2000...BZZZT!

Wow, bgg1996 so far has picked a 5k, 3k, and 2k machine, what horrible luck! Here's the standings now.

The good news is as you can see the average is climbing higher with each low amount you guys knock out. Also, in these last two rounds, less machines means a higher chance of that all-important perfect call, so best of luck in round 4.

Who's Scot?? I do Puzzles, and I'm from Scotland, hence PuzzleScot. It's not my name. Thanks.

I assume that we could call you the Scot then?
The only misuse of my name that I can't stand is "Mat". I might be offended by "Matte" but I have never seen it used. Also "Matte" would probably used by a smartarse and not an ignorant #@$@ so I might just be amused.

I will take the Maroon machine.

I'll pick Sky, sticking true to the original five colors I have already picked. So, uhh, nobody pick iron. Of course, those two are probably the four and six.

Chaz is first up at Orange.

$1000...
$2000...
$3000...
$4000...
$5000...
$6000...
$7000...
$8000...
$9000.....>BZZZT!

Ouch, Chaz remains with a goose-egg with only one round left. MatthewV is up next, at the Maroon machine.

$1000...
$2000...
$3000...
$4000...
$5000...
$6000...
$7000...
$8000....STOP!

And with that his lead jumps up another 8k, let's see how much more cash was in there.

$9000...
$10,000....BZZZT!

Not a bad call at all, ,only 2k short of perfect. bgg1996 is next up, hoping to get on the scoreboard with Sky.

$1000...
$2000...
$3000...
$4000...
$5000...
$6000...
$7000...
$8000....STOP!

And bgg1996 leaps up 2/3rds of a dozen. Let's see just how much he could have got.

$9000...
$10,000...
$11,000...
$12,000...
$13,000...
$14,000...
$15,000....BZZZT!

Wow, after a streak of machines under 6k, he hit the top one! Let's see if PuzzleScot's fortune has a similar turn with Eggshell.

$1000...
$2000...
$3000...
$4000...
$5000...
$6000...
$7000...
$8000...
$9000...
$10,000...
$11,000......STOP!

And with that PuzzleScot is out of the hole with a healthy positive 4k. How much was still left in the machine?

...BZZZT!

A perfect call it seems, which means PuzzleScot gets to take his reward from one of his opponents, and he chooses the leader MatthewV. And with that round the game draws much tighter, and there's only one more round left. Here's the standings.

Time to make your final decisions, keeping in mind 5 machines won't be used. *cues Jeopardy thinking music*

Funny how all the pinks and purples are still left over!
Cornflower claimed.

As an aside - put 200g of cornflour in a bowl, add 5 drops of glycerol, and mix in water a few tablespoons at a time to create your own non-newtonian fluid! (An experiment my 8yo son did the other day - great fun playing with it)

Unsurprisingly the greens were the first shades to go Revenge most foul!

Chaz, who probably should score some money at this point, chooses the Navy machine.

$1000...
$2000...
$3000...
$4000...
$5000...
$6000...
$7000...
$8000...
$9000...
$10,000...
$11,000...
$12,000...
$13,000...
$14,000...STOP!

He strikes gold with the 14k, the highest machine left at this point. That also means that he hit the amount right on the nose, and decides to take his winnings out of MatthewV's pockets, sending him down to -$2000, and putting Chaz in first place. PuzzleScot is next to act, picking the Cornflower, maybe hoping to make some dough.

$1000...
$2000...
$3000...
$4000...
$5000...
$6000...
$7000...BZZT!

And it shorts out at 7k, one of the lowest values left, which keeps Puzzle Scot in 3rd for now. bgg1996 now steps up, hoping to add to his cash from last round and get out of 2nd with the Iron machine.

$1000...
$2000...
$3000...
$4000...
$5000...
$6000...
$7000...
$8000...
$9000...
$10,000...
$11,000...STOP!

Score he does, flying into the lead with 19k total now. Let's see how much he could've got...

...BZZZT!

A perfect hit! And he was also aiming for MatthewV, which slams him even deeper into the hole. At this point the most MatthewV could score would put him at zero, but he can still play kingmaker if he scores a direct hit. Let's see what pink has in store.

$1000...
$2000...
$3000...
$4000...BZZZZT!

And just like that it's over. MatthewV hit the worst machine left, and in doing so solidifies bgg1996's win. Here's the final standings, and the cash amounts remaining.

Also he's a graphic of all the machines, which what players choose, and their values they were stopping at.

Thanks everybody for playing this awkward and high-chance game. Hopefully it provided a fun short distraction Revenge most foul! And congrats to bgg1996 again.

I was this || close to picking bgg as my target. Ecstatic Happiness

Congrats to bgg. This was a lot more fun than I anticipated (and I didn't really have "low" expectations to begin with.)

Man. MattV got molested a bit that last round. =D

The first two rounds, I thought we were picking the "number" of the machine, rather than the amount of the machine. Embarrassed Since I'm getting married on the fifteenth, I went for "15" two days in a row. I really should learn to read the rules on new games. =D
