This has become the sign-up thread, and now the replacements thread, for Ender's Game Mafia.
As with all games I design, there are no vanilla townie roles. Everyone has something special, though some are pretty mild.

Wow, Snik's game is going quickly. I'm hoping to start this one as soon as that one is over. As with all my games, there are no vanilla roles; everyone has at least a little something to do at night.
I've got these sign-ups. I am looking for 11 people, +-1. Get your cards and letters in!

Where did all the mafia players go? Did there used to be more members on this forum playing, or is that just my imagination? _________________ Sentran

It's likely that this game sounds like too much work, and I'm starting to think that is the case. (I'm a little worried it will be way too much work for me.) If it still is short by several players when Snik's game is done, I'll switch to using the same roles but without the constraints.
If people would rather sign up for a normal game, without the constraints, feel free to say so here. |

Well, I'm down for either (though I'd prefer the constraints, since that sounds more fun.)
Alternatively, you could ask for some people to "co-mod" with you (to keep an eye on the rules.) I'd volunteer for the job, but I'm certain there are a few members who wouldn't care to play, but would be willing to help out with modding (so that's probably a better idea in the interest of player head count.) _________________ The enemy's base is down. |

raekuul's game is nearly over, it looks like, so I'd like to have this one ready to go.
I've got these sign-ups. I am looking for at least 10 people, and no more than 12. Here's what I have at the moment

So I need 1-3 more. I am more than prepared to drop the constrained aspect. I'll come up with a good theme, instead. Hmm. How about Ender's Game characters? (Plus the rest of that world, including the Ender's Shadow series) But it won't be necessary to know the books to play.
As always in my games, there are no vanilla players. Everyone has at least a little something.

Excellent! Just one more and I'll be ready to roll.
My only warning, Mom, is that you can't talk about the game outside of the specified forum(s). Not even a word that seems completely innocuous and insignificant.
Also, the rest of you jerks have to be NICE TO HER. Not like you were to equestrian. (Not really. Mom, you'll have to develop a reasonably thick skin, and understand that anything said inside a Mafia game is often said specifically to anger and to get a reaction, and nothing bad is really meant by it in real life, or even semi-real GL life.) |

She's been married to a soldier for 10 years. She has a thick skin already. I explained to her that I can explain Mafia rules/roles to her, but nothing once the game starts. She understands. _________________ Sentran

I find it curious that you say that being married to a soldier gives one a thick skin. I would think that those families form a built-in support structure of reasonably like-minded people. Are they more petty and catty than, say, a condo owners association?
Anyway, if you have questions after the game has started, feel free to ask me. Also, these are good resources: http://mafiascum.net/wiki/index.php?title=Newbie_Guide and http://mafiascum.net/wiki/index.php?title=Roles Be warned, however, that I will include roles I have made up, and therefore won't be included there. |
