This is the archive of some of the best and funniest mafia bloopers, quotes, errors and plays.

Lets start off with this recent blooper by Green Crayons.
quote:

Green Crayons: ..Just looked over the thread, and saw Wordcross posted in reference to the game discussion, and as if he was in the game. ..What? Why? He's not on the player list. What's the deal?

quercitron: (next post) He's the mod.

Lets add them as we find them. Try not to post too many from running games in case it alters their outcomes.

Too lazy to look for the game, but there was one where Purgation was mafia and claimed cop - but he posted one more investigation than there had been nights...

In LotR mafia, Quailman was a good guy. He thought he was a bad guy, so he claimed a fake role. The town ended up losing because of his role claim.

(And no, the mod hadn't made him think he was bad. Quailman had read his role info and assumed he was bad.)

My first game, mafia 21:

2 cops died the second night.

Me, in an email to the other mafia members:

"We'd have to be idiots to lose this one now."

Followed by the lynching of all four mafia members in consecutive days.

quercitron, Isengard Mafia, post 231, bragging about his victory

I was thinking you were Mafia. Chalk another one up for querci.

So answer my question now: why MatthewV and not me?

Followed by me revealing that quercitron had in fact blown the game.

I still cannot get over the fact that in Dilbert Mafia, Kazooish left Alice out of the game!!! It was a mistake on his part, and none of us knew until the end.

My two partners, Pointy Haired Boss and Fraud Boss, had been lynched and killed respectively over a previous day/night period. I was Motivational Liar Boss, and when we were down to six players, I knew i needed a good role claim.

Looking over what roles i thought might be left, I said to myself "As strange as it might sound, i think that Alice would be a good role claim and i can hopefully cast doubt upon whomever is the real Alice with my l33t mafia tactics"

So the day progressed, and everyone made a role claim, including my claim as Alice. Imagine my utter surprise that no one disputed my claim!!! We had 2 Elbonians(Masons), Dawn and Rex dino(joint cop ability), and Carol the Secretary (Serial Killer). There was argument among other roles over whether Alice and/or the Elbonians were good or evil. I, of course, claimed Alice being good.

We first lynched Sparticus who was one of the Elbonians. That night, i didn't kill anyone, but RSA/DawnDino/Cop was killed by the other evil role. It turns out that Corsato, the last ramaining dino, had investigated me and gotten the correct role. To my great relief, it seemed that he dismissed this as a result of the fact that since all 3 dino's weren't alive, they had a chance of being wrong. I really had them believing i was Alice, and by this time I was well aware that Alice was either not playing or was playing me like a fiddle.

Well, the next day we decided to no-lynch by some weird trick of luck. So i killed the other bad-dude. luckily, he didn't kill me back, nor did he kill anyone at all.

So it was down to me(Mafia), FaerieFire(Mason), and Corsato(1/3 cop). Corsato had re-investigated me and gotten Dogbert.

I voted for FF, and she of course voted for me. It was in Corsato's hands.

I WON!!!! Against all of the damning evidence and circumstance, Corsato actually believed that I was Alice and that i was good!!!!! He voted for FF, and of course i killed him that night!

So the Bloopers here:
1) Kazooish Left a major role out of the game, which i claimed.
2) Corsato, lulled by this intensely confusing role claim (and my l33t Mafia tactics) voted for a Mason to secure me the win!!!

My favorite blunder is this one from Clue Mafia:

Beartalon (who was mafia) was claiming.
Beartalon, at 11:48 pm wrote:
I am Ms. Wine. Town, with no abilities.
The next post was also his, and came 6 minutes later.
Beartalon, at 11:54 pm wrote:
stupid accidental submit click...

...no abilities that I can use every night or day. I have a one-time auto-lynch ability that decapitates an evil character during the day, negating all votes and ending the day. If I try to use it and my target is not scum, I've wasted it and no-one knows. I haven't used it yet.

A little while later, DP said
Dragon Phoenix wrote:
I don't agree.

He claims town with a "colour" (wine) that is odd enough to probably not be duplicated in this game. He "has no abilities".

Now, look, he ends that sentence with a period.

Six minutes later he posts "stupid accidental submit click...
...no abilities that... "

I don't buy it.

As suspicious as all that was, Beartalon had to keep trying to look innocent, but as he started to lose hope that he would avoid a lynch, he said
Beartalon wrote:
Oh well. I'll be the first guy to ever suffer because he missed his period. Felicitous

In GL Central years ago, someone started a large mafia game with three mafia and forgot to tell them their roles. They spent the first day playing as though they were townies. They found out in the night when the moderator asked them for their target. I don't remember who moderated that game.

In another game, I was moderating and Hy was a cop, and he investigated Huey. Huey was not in the game but his twin brother, Vinnie, was. I looked at the mafia players on the player list, didn't see Huey's name, and said "Innocent". Vinnie went on to win the game.

Star Wars Mafia, day one. JDTAY jumps from vote to vote to vote in order to defend himself. Finally, he follows a bandwagon, lynching Princess Leia and finding himself killed as well because he was her bodyguard.

Galactic War mafia - I'm a townie - as part of a discussion, I point out to the group that the cop's investigations won't be 100% reliable if by some chance he's investigated the Godfather.

Samadhi the cop asks how I know there's a godfather, and assumes that I have information known only to the mafia. Within 5 hours of this post, they've accumulated enough votes to lynch me - all whilst I'm logged off.

It's only during twilight that I point out that if they'd bothered to read the first post, they'd have noticed that we were told about the GF from the beginning, but it seems nobody in the whole game actually bothered to look...

I still think one of the most frustrating times was the Star Wars mafia, where I took over for s00thsayer as Princess Leia. Two other people claimed the same role, and all 3 of us were trying to convince the town that they were the real Leia. Then s00thsayer came back, and both he and I were playing the same role. The funny part is, s00thsayer and I were last on the list of being believed, even though it really was our role. I've never seen a triple claim that worked so well for the scum like that one.

And I can't pin this to one game, it's happened a few times, but one of my favorite things to happen is when a smaller game starts with day, and someone makes up a claim that happened night 1. Mr. Green

Here's the "Lets bandwagon IS" portion, abridged, all emphasis mine:

CzarJ=Stormtrooper
Acer=Stormtrooper
Internet Stranger=Stormtrooper
L'lanmal=Stormtrooper
Plexer=Stormtrooper
Soothsayer=Stormtrooper
Zephyr=Stormtrooper
Dethwing=Darth Vader
The Suggestor=Emperor Palpatine

Antrax wrote:
Okay, I think we should aim to kill the smartest ones which aren't on our side.
For the first night, I suggest mithrandir. He's too smart to live.
As for the first day, we shouldn't all vote for the same person, and I
suggest trying to lead teehee bandwagons on IS and "he's annoying" bandwagon
on Pikachamp and Propaganda Master. Other worthy targets for tonight might
be Logain, Samadhi and tv snake.

The Suggestor wrote:
Let's see... about Lando,
I'm not sure what we can do with that as of yet. And as for Samadhi? I guess
that could be a good place to start, but I think that I will have to go with
Anthrax on his suggestion (Mith) on getting the smartest opponents out of the
way first. And bandwagons on those named (IS, Pika and Prop Master) would be
a good idea as well, just because they are extremely anoying.

I always liked this one by Sycko in Game Show Mafia. He was a scum who made a slight slip of the tongue...

Sycko wrote:
I was going to point that about Jedo, he was probably attempting to protect fellow scum. If we hadn't lynched Brian then Jedo would be safe. Well once we lynch him then we have three mafia left. Vote: Jedo. Before we lynch we should see what the cop has to say, but the odds are he got an innocent.

Time Travel Mafia: Night 5 or 6. The SK is dead, the only doc as been eliminated and we've only lost one mafia (sweetwater). Mafiadoc Ctorj has claimed doctor and gotten away with it. I've claimed Vig and almost gotten away with it. We've almost got a lock on the town. Ctorj says he wants to kill mayor Veg on a previous night. I tell him that's a bad idea, and list off several reasons, then say I want to kill our own lost mafia on night 1, to prevent the few kills he made and shore up my claim as a Vig. Well, killing off Sweetwater throws off a vote count causing four people to get lynched on day 2, including Ctorj. Without Ctorj to timetravel and save me night 3, I stay dead from the SK's attack night 2. In short, my decision wiped out the mafia in one stroke and left the SK as the last remaining scum (swiftly lynched for a town victory). I find out later that if I'd listened to Ctorj and simply lynched Veg we would have ended the game that night in a mafia win.

lies, i pretty much outright admitted to being a serial killer.

Not my fault the town decided not to consider what lynching the serial killer when the game was that close to endgame would do.

I would've made a deal with the rest of the town easily!
