I had him on my list, and took him back off and listed his as an alternate. I'm kind of glad I did now. RIP Jobs. _________________ The enemy's base is down. |

I thought of Libya, but presumed Gadaffi would get more use out of a 2011 calendar than Al-Megrahi!
My themed list looked at despotic and aging leaders. Kick self on both counts! _________________ http://www.ukpuzzles.org/ |

Well, I don't blame you, he is pretty much only famous in America now that I think about it. I wouldn't expect other countries to watch American news programs. _________________ Prohibit nothing. Disclose everything. |

I have been asked the following rules question and would like to open it up for discussion:
| Quote: |
Just a query about a rule...
| Quote: |
| 6. Persons under sentence of death will be valid for scoring points only if they die by means other than official execution. |
What is the situation if I pick someone and THEN they are sentenced to death at a later date? Would I get points 'as normal'? |
I have my initial thoughts on this, but would like to see what everyone else thinks. |

I would guess that this relates to Gaddafi's son in Libya. In the US people live for years on death row, so there'd be no point in selecting someone who was about to be sentenced to death.
I'd say let it ride, as the sentence may not be imposed or carried out. |

My thoughts (FWIW) are that if a person has already been arrested (or convicted) on a charge that could incur the death penalty, that shouldn't be allowed. Mind you, we all look for terminally ill and suicidal candidates, and I'm not suggesting they be disallowed... _________________ http://www.ukpuzzles.org/ |

I think anyone with a scheduled sentence shouldn't be allowed. I am fine with people who haven't been convicted yet being allowed. Just call it someone who is in very bad "political health". Also, there aren't many people who will fall into this category so it would be impossible to make a list of 20 hits.
My favorite people for this game are lung cancer survivors. |

Updated.
And I will allow picks where they are not yet sentenced to death, but may be sentenced to death after the submission deadline and the sentence is carried out within the year.
Once they are under a death sentence at the start of the year, death by execution as a result of carrying out the sentence will not count. |
