Not much time on my hands right now, but just some quick things I've seen.
I think I have the right song names
| Quote: |
| Take a look at me now |
Phil Collins - "Take a look at me now"
| Quote: |
| Jenny, who can I turn to |
Tommy Two Tones - "Jenny, Jenny" or is it "8675309"
| Quote: |
| “Nobody gonna slow me down!” |
??? - "Break my stride"?
| Quote: |
| “Prove yourself! You are the move you make!” |
Yes - "Owner of a lonely heart"
| Quote: |
| “Oh can’t you see? You belong to me!” |
The Police - "Every Breath"
| Quote: |
| Who ya gonna call?” |
??? - "Ghost Busters" |

Pretty sure it's "Tommy Tutone" / "Jenny (8675309)"
Also, "The Police" / "Every Move You Make". |

Debarge, I believe.
Further guesses...
"My last name is Control" - Janet Jackson, Nasty Boys
"We will find you acting on your best behavior" - Tears for Fears, Everybody Wants to Rule the World
"Slide over here and give me a moment" - INXS, You're My Kind _________________ Sentran

I think we need the opener "Jump". Van Hale, Jump, from the album 1984.
So do you think we need album/year as well, or just artist, or just song title? |

| After quite a bit of digging out alternative sources for some of those lyrics I reckon the song played was A View To A Kill |

Some more, not in any order:
Slide over here and give me a moment! - Need you tonight - INXS
You work all your life for that moment in time - Maniac - Michael Sembello
What is happening here? Something is going on that’s not quite clear - Dancing on the ceiling - Lionel Richie
This time might be the last, I fear - Broken Wings - Mr. Mister
So I'm thinking there's an 80's greatest hits CD with a song missing somewhere... |

Corrections and additions...
“Maxwell… Jump!”
It also occurred to me that this could be either Jump (For My Love) – Pointer Sisters or Jump – Van Halen
“I can hear machinery!"
She Blinded Me with Science – Thomas Dolby
“Nobody gonna slow me down!”
Break My Stride – Matthew Wilder
“My last name is Control…”
Nasty – Janet Jackson
“Captain Kirk”
99 Luftballons (Red Balloons) – Nena
“As long as the sun continues to shine,
Upside Down – Diana Ross
I’ll take it like a man!”
Mickey – Toni Basil
“It doesn’t matter what they say”
This could also be one of two choices, It’s Still Rock and Roll To Me – Billy Joel or Our Lips Are Sealed – The Go-Go’s
“Whatever it takes, I will stay here with you.”
Nothing’s Gonna Stop Us Now – Starship
“Oh can’t you see? You belong to me!”
Every Breath You Take – The Police
“I can’t help myself.”
She Drives Me Crazy – Fine Young Cannibals
“Forget how it feels to be free?”
Only In My Dreams – Debbie Gibson
I believe all the others are correct. Still trying to puzzle out where to go next. _________________ Sentran

Progress! I looked over the list of all songs in order, and I noticed several things. Spoilered for those who care to figure it out.
The first is that “It doesn’t matter what they say” is definitely from Our Lips Are Sealed – The Go-Go’s.
The second is that it doesn't matter which Jump you use, but due to genre I suspect Jump (For My Love) – Pointer Sisters.
The third is that you should spell out both 99 Luftballons and 867-5309.
At this point, if you take the first letter of all the song quotes, in order, you get JAMES BOND NUMBER ONE SONG.
A quick lookup for 1980's James Bond movies shows that For Your Eyes Only by Sheena Easton only made it to #4 on the US Charts, but as Oscar stated, A View To A Kill by Duran Duran made it to #1. _________________ Sentran

Just thought you'd find this funny, since the puzzle is well solved at this point.

I love misheard lyrics!
"There's a bathroom on the right" - Bad Moon Rising
"The girl with colitis goes by" - Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds
Real life example, a co-worker was singing along with Genesis' Invisible Touch, but thought it was "Physical Attraction". _________________ Sentran

Hahaha, I heard that same lyric as "got a physical touch". Obviously it seemed a little weird at the time. I like these two:
"But the chair is not my son"- Billie Jean, Michael Jackson
"I found a maggot in my bran-oat flakes"- You Were Meant For Me, Jewel
(original lyric was "I kind of like it in my brand new place") |

| Sure. Go ahead. You can surround it with Spoiler tags, if you like, but this puzzle has been here long enough that someone should take it. |
