For some reason, I am unable to watch videos on youtube from my computer (using chrome webbrowser on windows 7). Other computers in my house will do so just fine with chrome, and I can watch videos in firefox or (i assume) IE. But, in chrome I cannot watch videos hosted on youtube through the regular site, nor any embedded videos I've come across. The only way I can watch *some* of them is by viewing the video file directly on youtube's database

(i.e. if I wanted to watch this video:

I cannot unless I modify the URL thusly:
http://www.youtube.com/v/LBMtbVonAIg

If the video video has embedding disabled then I can't watch it at all in chrome.

As far as I know, I"m not having any trouble with other video players (vimeo, collegehumor, megavideo, etc.) or any other flash content. I've made sure to turn off and/or disable adblockers of any sort. Anyone have ideas? I tend to watch a lot of youtube clips on a daily basis, and I'm not really set up to do my usual browsing through anything but Chrome, so this is fairly annoying.

yeah, I've rebooted, double-checked my antivirus software, double-checked my browser plugins, made sure my plugins are up to date (shockwave, javascript, etc.) and generally done all of the things I could even imagine might make a difference. Still no dice. My next step will be to uninstall chrome and reinstall it.

Same exact thing happened to me a couple of months ago (same OS, browser, everything)...updating Chrome worked for me. Must have been a failed update or something.
