Think about those lists!!!

Feel free to enter a themed team as well as a regular team if you so please.

Deadline for entries: Tuesday, January 3, 2012, 11:59pm PST. If you submit Jan 3 and someone on your list died before your submission, that entry will not be counted.

Late entries are allowed, but you will not be able to score within the first 30 days of submitting your entry if your entry is received after January 3, 2012.

If you submit your list prior to Jan 1, 2012 and someone dies before the actual deadline imposed here (Jan 3, 2012), you will score if that person is on your list.

Send your lists by PM to me or post in the thread.

Entires received from:

3iff - 3IF
Jaguar - JAG
JDTAY Themed List - JDT
Jesternl - JES
Jesus_saves - JSS
Jesus_saves Theme list - JST
Lexprod - LEX (Jan 11, 2012 entry)
MatthewV - MTV
MNOWAX - MNO
Quailman - QUA
Stubby - STU

The Score so far:
1. JAG 120 (Etta James, Dick Clark, Robin Gibb, Kathryn Joosten, Ray Bradbury)
2. STU 39 (Dick Clark, Richard Dawson)
3. 3IF 38 (Robin Gibb)
4. QUA 31 (Etta James, Yitzhak Shamir)

The RULES:
1. Players pick 20 celebrities whom they predict will die in 2012. When one of their celebrities dies, they score points. Whoever has the most points at the end of the year wins. You gain points equal to 100 minus the age of the person at time of death, however, you will always get at least 1 point for a death.

Your list can include up to 2 replacements. These will be used if any of the people on the list you submitted died prior to the start of the New Year.

2. Valid picks must not be:

a. already dead
b. a fictional character
c. non-human
d. under age 18 at death

3. If there is uncertainty about the celebrity's age at death, I will go with the higher age (lower score).

4. Picks must specify a name: listings like "anybody from the cast of friends" are ignored.

5. Persons under sentence of death will be valid for scoring points only if they die by means other than official execution. EXCEPTION: If a person is sentenced to death after your submission and the sentence is carried out within the game year, points will be scored.

6. Attempting to deliberately cause the death of a chosen celebrity may result in disqualification.

7. Attempts to deliberately extend the lives of other players' celebrities that you have not chosen by, say, inventing a cure for cancer, or providing life-saving surgery, ARE allowed.

8. I will allow two lists by the same person, however, if you opt to do this, your second list has to have a theme. (for example cartoonists or authors or people whose names start with the letter A, etcetera)

The AWARDS, other than the Winner:

The "Quantity Not Quality" Award: to be awarded to the poster or posters who pick the greatest number of celebrities who died, regardless of their actual point value.

The "Inside Track with the Grim Reaper" Award: to be awarded to the poster or posters who picks the most celebrities that no one else picked.

The "Opening Kickoff" Award: to be awarded to the poster or posters who pick the first listed celebrity to die in 2012.

The "Final Hours" Award: to be awarded to the poster or posters who pick the last listed celebrity to die in 2012.

The “Party Pooper” Award: to be awarded to the poster or posters who pick a celebrity who dies on their birthday.

The "Sentenced" Award: to be awarded to the poster or posters who pick a celebrity who dies as a result of a death sentence that was imposed and carried out within the same game year.

I just want to inquire about Rule #6. Is it against the rules for someone to pay me (who isn't playing) to kill a given celebrity?

Good thing she wasn't on your list then, or I'd have to call shenanigans.

Okay, I probably shouldn't be joking about anyone's death, but then again I probably shouldn't be scoring points off anyone's death either. Felicitous
