You turn around. There is an arrow pointing forward. You can't seem to remember what you forgot.

Check my inventory, did I drop anything?

Look at the arrows, will they take me to the deep vault?
That is where I really want to go.

You do not need to pee at this present time.

You watch the arrow. After a few minutes, it changes direction. It is now pointing back to where you just came from.

The Tauropedia has this to say on the subject of reminders. Reminders are frequently used to remind people of something that either they did forget or are likely to forget. For example, the author of this entry needs to remember to pick up milk on his way home. Reminders can be any innocuous thing, though they usually will stand out.

Wait... where did the small black disk come from?

Check the map in the Tauropedia. and for any additional information about how to get through the maze of winds.

You check the map in the Tauropedia.

Code:
BGNOOOO
OON^OOO
OONNOOO
OOOOOOO
OOOOONX
OOOOOON
OOOOOOB

The Tauropedia has nothing to say on the Maze of Winds itself, but there is a note. "We built it to fool the wise. ~Xerxes, twentieth Castor of the Zodiac"

The staircase is two cells from the southern wall.

You find it oddly puzzling that a question about how you can see was answered by your ears.

The Tauropedia has this to say on light.

Light is one of the sixteen Encrested Elements, it is the Holy Group's equivalent of Air. It can be simulated both by various other Encrested Elements as well as by most other types of magic and technology. Light is naturally created by numerous atomic, chemical, and occasionally physical reactions - the most commonly seen source of light in the universe is that great fusion-reaction furnace called a "Star". Common sources of artificial indoor light are light bulbs and glow tiles, both of which can be powered by electricity.

Even here at the end of time when the Tauropedia has been compiled, no mortal is certain whether light is a particle or a wave - and the immortals aren't talking. The consensus at the time of this writing is that magically-produced light begins as a wave, while naturally- or technologically-produced light begins as a particle.

See also Speed of Light, Einstein's Theory of Relativity, and the Bell Observation Hypothesis.

The Tauropedia has this to say on ethereal hums.

Ethereal Hums, as they are commonly known, generally indicate some sort of low-voltage electrical usage. Glow Tiles are notable for always being accompanied by an ethereal hum.

You go towards the light, ignoring the snarky voice in your head that's stage-whispering "don't go towards the light".

You see Dagolar's Gate. It is on fire.

is it a big fire, or will a water skin put it out? Could it be a magical fire?

It would be more appropriate to say that Dagolar's Gate is fire.

The fire is too big for a single waterskin to put out, and you get the feeling that no water you have can put out the fire.

There appear to be more stairs on the other side of the gate.

The gateway looks as though you could jump through it, if you so desired.
