Nice! Other than the slightly questionable 'toft' (English, only, at the table, please)* there wasn't really anything we shouldn't have come up with. Nice puzzle!

* Commonly heard at poker tables, especially in California and Vegas.

Care to take over, El? If not, I have a few lined up. I could throw one out there.

Good so far. The beginning is the tricky bit. You might have to think outside of the box a bit for "One, possibly two, letters from Papa"

This is hard to fit with the top one, though. The direct and indirect objects seem reversed.

You're more likely to figure out BOX OPENER, and see how that could be construed as ONE, POSSIBLY TWO LETTERS FROM PAPA.

On second thought though, maybe it would be more fair if I had used PA instead of PAPA.

Yeah, this is a pretty bad flaw, imo. Love your box opener clue though.

Are you referring to the grammar in my clues or your proposed answers? And signmakers aren't known for producing great grammar anyway.

It looks like Q beat you to it, novice. I'm with you on the filler words. I was expecting a verb, at least. Extreme Delectation

I'll grab the thread. I made this one a while ago in honor of a GL regular who passed away. groza had talked about putting together a number of puzzles in his honor, but I guess nothing came of it. I'm pretty proud of not only getting his name in, but also a comment on his real opinions that he stated many times in the Off Topic forums.

It is meant is the best of spirit, and I think he would have been amused.

Mother, Jerome chills out a young boy. The Gler takes back his Libertarian comments. (9)

Create six beautiful antipastos. An insane selection of a new employee won't be able to restrain the state leader. (10)

Great so far. I knew it was a pretty easy one. For the rest, perhaps it should have said:

Mother, Jerome chills out a young boy. The Gler takes back his Lib'n comments. (9)

Create six beautiful antipastos. An insane selection of a new employee won't be able to restrain the st. leader. (10)

No, though that's pretty impressive. Extreme Delectation

The final word is the same abbreviation in both cases, but abbreviating two different words (closely related, but different). (Also, it is capitalized in one case.)

Q, even a mad hire wouldn't be able to stop the state leader, only S _ _ _ him.

(I had forgotten about this one.)

That's what I had intended, though I like Q's finish just as well. Samadhi was a pretty significant Libertarian, so him recanting 'low gov.' would have been quite a big deal. Of course, it never would have happened.

R.I.P. Samadhi (a.k.a. Jerome "Kevin" Kirby).

I hope you all appreciated this tribute puzzle.
