You know the drill.
1. Show broadcast ahead of time.
2. First among the adults!
3. Sulfur acid set in motion.
4. Sounds like the orangutan from days gone by.
5. Even its horsemen keep a crowded company.
6. Passages from a brief chapter by a frank writer codifying Lesotho.
7. Tango nude, as if brought into harmony.
8. Icon ends up to date.
9. In a stoical mood!
10. Fast grounded bird with long legs; rarely scored by duffers.
11. Marching sounds, as if dad is invading.
12. Jumble up something that starts precisely.
13. Engaged in central state session.
14. Every last one, even Mad Lily!
15. Tactless overt act concluded.
16. While slow, he normally caught up.
17. Money earmarked for research into a revolutionary period.
18. Mixed drinks with eggs and off-center rims.

If it weren't for being the even letters, 5 looks like THREE.
And my first thought for 7 was UNIFIED, but I can't quite make it fit either. |

I have this idea that "into a revolutionary" = "ation", but I haven't figured out the rest. There's no period named grantation as far as I know. |

Nor is "dur" or "gener" a word for research grant. |

| "Cess," however, is at least actually a word -- a specific type of tax, unfortunately it's a tax related to the military, not to research. |

Random thoughts:
Could "Money earmarked" be MY or ONE? (I'm not sure if 'earmarked' would mean remove the ears or keep only them.)
The only orang-utans famous enough to be used in a clue, IMHO, are Louis or King Louis, from Disney's version of Jungle book, or Clyde from the Clint Eastwood movie. But it might just be ape. |

| Except that they are at opposite ends of the clue, so one of the two has to be the definition (or part of it) and not wordplay. |

Bah! Surprised with myself that I missed that one. I had IN and was trying to add "up" to it somehow to give me a "date". VITE was the best I could come up with, though it was far from satisfactory. |
