Wow. That's so far outside my cryptic experience and I thought I was moderately well-read in these matters.
(Then again, I'm not wholly convinced by "PR" for "acclaim"... "hype" yes, "acclaim", not really. Revenge most foul!)

And I think you mean "corporal" punishment in #5. Although I suppose it would be corporeal as well.

Heh.. not the answer I was looking for there. Revenge most foul!

"Naughty" instead of "Extracurricular" might be fairer/easier.

Definitely trickier clues this time around.

15. Live rounds are second place for troops.

I want to parse this as "LIVE around RS = PLACE FOR TROOPS"

HO(S)T almost works, the "are" doesn't fit though. "are second" could be "r" as well, so that could give us FO(R)T or something, but FOT != LIVE...

B(A+S)E works well for this.

BASE is correct.

The are is a unit of area, equal to 100 square metres, with the symbol a.

Looks like a paper cane = APPEARANCE
Flying in space warps gravity = ESCAPING
Crashing into cold natural base spot = NOTICE

Straight definitions for APPEARANCE ESCAPING NOTICE:
Cameo
Extra
Blandness

I haven't found any promising wordplays yet, though.

Just looking at wordplay,

APPEARANCE = I see = IC
removed from NOTICE = NOTE.

You really have to stretch, though, to make it fit the definition.

Given that it's Elethiomel the final clue must be &lit. I was thinking that maybe 'escaping' was another *unusual* Wink anagram indicator and that the answer ended in -ection or -etonic etc.
However I believe it's actually SH(AD)OW
(Appearance = Show, Notice = Ad, escaping' indicating 'outside of')

Again, very clever!
