Possible actions...still considering my options.
Use ship computer to display a shipwide schematic of personnel (and Princua) locations on the main display screen. Determine location of enemy Princua vessel (or vessels) and class/armament. Check if our ship can still move. I should be able to condense that into one general command...
to Tank: "You've got a weapon, might be a good idea for you to join the fight...or guard this place. I don't like guns anyway. I can look after the ship from here. I wonder where the captain is?" |

Right, um, looks like there's actual shooting going on here... What's that, Charlie? Thrusters in their ears? Are these lizards super-sensitive to noise, or something? Neat.
(I'm not quite following, but he seems to know what he's doing.)
Action: Put my trust in Charlie, and follow his tactical advice on how to engage the Princua. |

Turn 16 Resolution:
MNO: 2
Jack fires a few more rounds at the Princua soldiers, but his shots go wide. “Fire more, men!” he shouts to his squad, but they cower in fear while making a few errant shots of their own.
Elethiomel: 2
“Now, I’m going to throw a grenade at these lizards,” explains Charlie, “then everybody else should open fire.” Charlie reaches for his grenade belt only to find there is nothing there. “Where the hell are my—”
“Don’t worry about it, Charlie,” whispers Dee, “I’ve got a couple.” Dee pulls out a grenade and lobs it toward the Princua. The grenade arcs and lands perfectly in their midst. Unfortunately, he forgot to pull the pin.
novice: 6
Zip rummages around in the bag some more to find ammo for his gun. Finally, his hand grasps a clip, and he pulls it out. He slams the clip into the handle of the pistol before he realizes the ammo is for a different model of gun. Now, Zip’s pistol is jammed and unusable. What do I do now? I can’t ask the men about this or they’ll laugh at me some more.
Monk: 2-1=1
Reggie begins to search the shelves for a gun with which he can defend himself and the captain. Apparently, this storage room has already been raided for supplies of the military sort. He continues to look around for any weapon which may have been left behind. Finally he spots a pistol which was knocked behind a row of power cells. He reaches toward the back of the shelf for the gun, but as he is pulling it out, his sore wrist accidentally hits the shelf causing him to drop the gun. It falls to the ground, bounces off his foot, and skitters into an open grate out of his reach.
“Way to go, genius,” remarks the captain. “You just lost the only weapon left in this place.”
3iff: 4
Sentran: 3
Suzy and Tank enter a Command which has been turned upside-down. Some officers are slumped over their consoles shaking, others are running around the room, and still others are trying to climb the walls. They seem as if they’ve all lost their minds.
“Computer, set up an alarm system to alert us if the Princua enter the corridor a hundred yards in either direction,” orders Suzy. She then turns to Tank and says, “We have to do something. This isn’t right, and the whole ship is vulnerable if Command is offline. Any ideas?”
“First, let’s block the door so we have some extra protection if the Princua suddenly show up here. Hopefully, Command had given out enough orders to squads before this happened,” responds Tank. They find a desk and try to move it in front of the door, but it catches on damaged floor tile and becomes wedged. “Well, at least most of the door is blocked. Let’s see what’s going on.”
They approach the nearest person slumped over their desk and discover the shaking is caused by laughter. “What the hell?” mutters Suzy. They move onto the next person and see the same thing is true. As they continue checking people, they realize they are all under the grip of some strange mania.
“We’ve got to do something about this,” says Tank, “and fast.” _________________ Paragon Tally: 18 mafia, 3 SKs (1 twice), 1 cultist, numerous chat scum...and counting. |

(Umonk asked me to take over for him for this week.)
Reggie gives the captain an apologetic grin and shrugs. "At least we can make missiles out of these," he says, hefting one of the power cells. "Roughly the same size and a little heavier than a baseball -- that's an old Earth game that ... never mind, I'll tell you about it later." (Action) He grabs large package of the cells and heads out, looking for enemies upon whom to practice his fastball. |

Turn 17 Resolution:
MNO: 4
“Goddamit, men! We aren’t going to let these freaks of evolution kill us. Aren’t we the superior race?! Fire like you’ve got some hot chick waiting for you back at base and you want to slip it between her legs!” yells Jack as he increases his own efforts to kill these Princua. There better be some fine piece of ass waiting for me after this. The bullets fly with more fury, and some of the lizards begin to show signs of injury. Suddenly, a bullet strikes an object falling near the Princua…
Elethiomel: 3
“Way to go, Dipshit,” chides Charlie, “you forgot to pull the pin. Now that we’ve lost one grenade, what are you going to do?”
“I’m going to throw another. Double the bang, double the buck.” This time I’ll use my towel as a slingshot to help it be more accurate. Dee preps the grenade and begins to swirl the towel. He releases the sling a little earlier than he intended, so the grenade flies in a much higher arc and a little past the Princua. Still, one of the bullets miraculously collides with the grenade causing a massive explosion. The Princua are knocked to the deck, and there appears to be no sign of movement from them.
“That’s better,” says Charlie.
novice: 4
I don’t know why I even grabbed that tiny gun in the first place. The squad definitely would have laughed at me if I was carrying that around. There must be something better in here…
Zip finally finds a suitable alternative and pulls it from the bag. The payoff is a dual-action shotgun/grenade launcher known among the men as a Dragonslayer. It doesn’t have much ammo, but there’s certainly more in the deep recesses of the bag if it runs out.
Zip has a Dragonslayer with 6 shotgun rounds and two grenades.
Monk: 2
“There are a bloody lot of these power cells here. I bet they could be used as weapons,” suggests Reggie.
“How in the world is that?” asks the captain with a tone of incredulity in her voice.
“We just have to tweak them to a destabilized state and then throw them toward the enemy like a fast pitch on the cricket field. As they travel through the air, they will become increasingly more volatile before they explode in the midst of the enemy.”
Reggie picks one off the shelf to test the heft, but it proves to be much too heavy for throwing as he lets it drop to the ground. The captain gives him a smug look conveying, “Now what?”
3iff: 4
Sentran: 4
“Tank, what’s happened to them? Is it the air?” inquires Suzy.
Tank shakes his head and replies, “I’ve got a bad feeling about this.” He walks to the nearest console to check the monitor in front of the officer. As he sees what is on it, he quickly looks away.
While he's doing that, Suzy decides to do her own investigation. “Everybody, listen up. We need to know what’s going on in here. Can any of you—”
Tank runs the few steps back to Suzy and claps a hand over her mouth. “Don’t say another word,” he whispers in her ear, but the damage has already been done. The people in the room turn their attention toward Suzy and Tank, and with singleness of purpose, the officers begin to approach Suzy and Tank with menace in their eyes. “The monitors had subliminal messages playing. They’re being mind-controlled. We should leave now.” _________________ Paragon Tally: 18 mafia, 3 SKs (1 twice), 1 cultist, numerous chat scum...and counting.

As Reggie pulls one of the cells out of the box, he sees that the entire base of it is bright red. "Bloody hell!" he exclaims, "Too heavy, and these things are just bloody bad luck! Look at the colour!" (The letter U is quite evident in his pronunciation.") (Also, I finally got around to reading UMonk's original description of the character.)
He winks at the captain, her voluptuous body is never completely off his mind, even in the middle of combat. "This storeroom is a bust. I'll have to go out and find some way to help my mates. It shouldn't take too long." He heads out, counting on his lethal hands and feet, moving as stealthily as he can. |

| Sorry, I'm not sure how much Reggie knows about his surroundings and what's going on. I know he's in the storeroom with a hot female NPC captain, and that, with a few bad rolls in this room already, it is not going to yield anything useful. I figured he would head out, but I'm not sure how far from the action he is (or even if he knows where the action is). |

MNO: 2
Elethiomel: 6
Glad to be rid of at least this group of Princua and to have access to their ship by means of the breach, Jack approaches the dead enemies to look for anything valuable. As he nears the bodies, he sees Dee approaching from the opposite direction with more soldiers. Good. Now we can really strike at their heart. Jack begins to sort through the bodies before speaking to Dee or the other soldiers, but he finds nothing useful.
Dee also is happy to see Jack alive after the recent encounter. If he dies, we probably won’t stand a chance. Still, Dee wants to retrieve his unprimed grenade before anybody else can get to it. He nears the grenade, but it explodes when he gets within a few yards of it. The blast assaults the ears of everyone in the corridor, and they go to their knees in pain. The grenade was thankfully only a concussion grenade, but the whole group is still momentarily stunned.
“The monitors had subliminal messages playing. They’re being mind-controlled. We should leave now,” says a voice through the towel.
Jack and Dee are disoriented by the grenade blast. They will receive a -1 to all rolls next turn.
novice: 2
Hoisting his new gun up, Zip returns to the Lieutenant who is talking with his communications soldier. “There is no word from Command. They’re silent.”
“Lieutenant, I’m ready to go fight some Princua. Let’s take the rest of your men and go rescue this ship,” Zip says with obvious eagerness in his voice. Unfortunately, the Lieutenant is too concerned with the news his soldier just shared to hear Zip.
Monk: 3
“This place is obviously not going to yield anything worthwhile for us,” Reggie states trying to ignore the captain’s narrowed eyes at his passing over of the loss of the only gun. “Maybe we should just continue on our way to Command.”
“Fine,” the captain responds somewhat huffily.
The two of them head out once again toward Command, but along the way Reggie becomes out of breath. They stop about a hundred yards from Command.
3iff: 4
Sentran: 1
Suzy backs out into the corridor to get away from the mind-controlled crew members, and she glances around to make sure there aren’t any threats in the corridor. Tank continues to back toward the door with his rifle at the low ready position, watching the approaching hostiles for any signs of attack. Unfortunately, Tank forgot about the table partially blocking the door. He trips backward over it and hits his head on the floor. He is knocked unconscious, and the rifle slips from his grasp into the corridor. The unfriendly crew members continue their inexorable movement toward Suzy.
Tank has hit his head and is unconscious. He will rouse after one turn of inaction. _________________ Paragon Tally: 18 mafia, 3 SKs (1 twice), 1 cultist, numerous chat scum...and counting. |
