Jumping on Courk's band wagon (with a literal band), I, too, have been looking for a couple "songs" (actually they are both instrumental, so neither are technically songs [/musicgeek]). I think if anyone might be able to help, it would be this lot of boffins.
The first is the music that is used as the background to Monty Python's sketch about the Olympic hide and seek championship. It's the jazzy electric guitar thing with jazzy brass, that later has a jazz-flute bit:

It also features in the Monte Carlo episode of Archer (Season 2?).
I started narrowing it down and did some sleuthing, and I found some old 1960s jazz public-domainishness, and it definitely sounds like it could be Syd Dale.

It could also be Keith Mansfield or someone like him...
I also discovered this ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rqr8LZgwrro ), but, as you can see, it is not the correct song.
So Grey Labyrinth boffins! Can you help The Doctor out? Cheers! |

Shazaam picked out this track: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bjOkdZVj98A
Schoolboy Q -- Kamikaze
It's listed on iTunes, so maybe you could check to see if there's any information about the sample they used. I don't have iTunes installed, sorry! |

Oh. My. God. Thok and Lepton, you are amazing. I have been searching for this for something along the lines of 12 years (in fact, had the song and I been in the Hide and Seek Olympic Championships, it would have beaten Don Roberts's and Francisco Huron's record). I saw this back in high school and actually used the music in a Latin project—I had record it directly off the VCR to a minidisc recorder, complete with all the car noises and audience burbling—but I have always wanted a clean copy. Thank you!
Also, I don't know what the hell I was putting in the search fields, but apparently not something as simple and direct as what you did. |
