Inspired by HyToFry's movie post, I wanted to start a thread where we can rate any games that we have played recently.
If the games are for a PC or another game console, then this will be a good place to discuss whether they are worth buying or not. Also, it could make for a good listing of web sites which may have good flash media or similar type games on their site worth trying out. |

| I came across a neat flash media game on http://www.campchaos.com called Goodnight Mr. Snoozleberg. It's worth playing for a while if you have some time to kill. |

Rainbow Six (PC)
The first few levels are easy, but there are also some tough ones. You get to command the troops and plan missions. There is Online Multiplayer.
Replay: Only to plan missions different ways.
Cheats: There is the classic invincible and another one where you can go through a whole mission and no matter how bad you mess up, you won't die or lose.
Rating: 8/10
Zork Grand Inquisitor (PC)
Reminds me of Zelda a little, only not as fun. You are a vacuum salesman trying to restore magic to the land. The puzzles are harder than Zelda, but a bit repetitive. (Oh no, I can't figure out what to do... Use a spell...)
Replay: There's nothing to do.
Cheats: None that I know of, but you really don't need any.
Rating: First time: 9 to 10/10
After that: 1/10 if that.

Rubik's Games
A collection of 5 puzzle games:
ZigThrough: Match up same-colored blocksto remove them. Make your way to the exit to win!
Rubik's Playground: A physics puzzle where you set up the balls and items to get a certain number out. The different types of balls have different traits (i.e., there are heavy metal balls, lightweight [yet fragile] rubber balls, and explosive bombs) . There are tons of levels to choose from.
Cover Up: a puzzle game where you have to unstack the towers onto the grid to win!
Rubik's Classic: A virtual Rubik's Cube, includes different sizes from 2x2x2 to 5x5x5!
Paint War: A competition where you try to be the first to paint more than half the board. A highly unusual game.

i have a ps game called devil's dice (how appropriate for me...)
it's not been released in the us, but i love it... you roll/slide these dice around to make them go away (when you have at least the same number touching sides as shown the top faces)
it's really hard to explain... you can play in german, french, english, or italian (and one more, i think... japanese? i don't remember), but i like the english and french... especially the french, because everything's written in french, but they still talk in english, so it's funny (okay, maybe to me)...
i also love spyro... all of 'em...
why the new ps interest? i can play ps games on my new 'pute =] |

Final Fantasy 8(PC)
Awesome game. It's just awesome. I love it. I never stop playing. I'm starting to think Squall's talking to me.
Replay: Haven't gotten through the game to try and play it again, but there's countless different ways to do things, as well as FOUR cds, this game is long. Which is not a bad thing.
Cheats: None that I know of, but I don't know of much.
Rating: 9.99999.../10

Octi (web, board)
Abstract board game. Try to occupy your opponent's starting spaces. Add prongs to your pods to allow them to move in up to 8 different directions. Much deeper than it first appears. www.octi.net
Hex (web, board)
Abstract board game. Connect your sides of the board with a chain of hexagons and prevent your opponent from doing the same. Can be found at www.playsite.com .
Span (graph paper)
Abstract board game. Connect your sides of the board with a chain of line segments and nodes before your opponent can. Instructions at www.geocities.com/happymutant42/span.htm . If something there is unclear, tell me.
Descent 3
Flying Shootemup. My recently broken addiction of two years. Maneuver through underground mazes, spaceships, and terrain in your zero-g craft. True six degrees of freedom flight, blows ground-pounders away.
Replay: Secondary objectives and secret levels abound in the single player game, multiplayer is highly addictive.
Cheats: Tons and Tons, can't remember 'em all. Some nearly kill you.
Rating: 3/10. Would be 10/10, but it stole a fifth of my life over the past two years.

I couldn't come up with a funny sig, so I wrote a sarcastic, self-referential one instead. |

knightofni - I cant wait to get that for Christmas!!!! I've been busy playing Madden 2001 but I think I have finally gotten to the point where its not fun anymore (I always beat the computer). So I joined an online franchise to play against other players.
But I heard that NHL 2001 is the greatest!! Next week is Christmas!!!
Maybe after I get it I can meet you online to play. |
