I've checked my bandwidth and it's still top notch (virtually every common website loads in about 1/10 to 1/2 second). However, when loading the GL and only the GL, I've experienced EXTREMELY slow load times. Like 10+ seconds. And sometimes it's been so long, I've given up (yeah like a minute).
I don't see that much traffic that would be interfering. And I don't see anyone else complaining about it....
So, is it just me? _________________ And he lived happily ever after. Except for the dieing at the end and the heartbreak in between. |

I've had some problems, especially in loading pages after submitting a post. Travis has obviously been having the same problems: http://www.greylabyrinth.com/discussion/viewtopic.php?p=372693#372693
at first i thought it was my buggy modem, but lately other websites have been loading just fine, while the GL is still sometimes slow.
why would there be occassional bandwidth suckage? _________________ Has anyone really been far even as decided to use even go want to do look more like? |

I, too, have had the same issue. It is slow but not unbearable when GL browsing, but submitting a post appears to take about 45-75 seconds each time I post a response.
And Travis complained of the same thing in OT. |

I'll be more alert to this problem now. Occasionally my cable thingy needs to reboot, and sites get slow just before then. I rebooted it yesterday, so I'll assume anything new is the mystery GL problem.
Also, hasn't Travis been having this problem? ;-) |

I'm going to go on a limb and say it's some problem with a router somewhere along the way from you to the GL. It's probably not a technical problem with the GL itself, because very few users have been affected. _________________ After years of disappointment with get rich quick schemes, I know I'm gonna get rich with this scheme. This is more worrying. I thought it's a localised US thing at first, but if it's still happening and for people from different places, there may be a larger problem. _________________ After years of disappointment with get rich quick schemes, I know I'm gonna get rich with this scheme. And quick! |

Interesting. I replied 'me too' in the OT Klemmen topic started by Vinny. It stalled. I clicked stop and hit submit again. It stalled. I tried to load the main discussion page and timed out.
I shut down all interfaces and retried. Here's the interesting thing. There are two posts by me saying 'me too', and yet CP is still listed as the most recent poster in the thread. Clearly, some scripts are failing. |

On scum, I rebuilt the indexes. I don't have easy access on the GL. I could haxor it, but I'll let Antrax or someone with legit access do so.
-JEEP
P.S. Just to put your mind at ease... *MOST* people couldn't hack it. I have ftp access to the site, so could upload a script and execute it. |

Let's try to coordinate in the future. I realise you're full of good intentions, but I've already rebuilt the search index, several times. It doesn't fix the issue. It does increase server load and adds a risk of a site crash, though. _________________ After years of disappointment with get rich quick schemes, I know I'm gonna get rich with this scheme. Not to offend or anything, but don't you think if I knew that I'd have already fixed it?
We should probably collaborate on this, you jeep and myself. You can read phpbb.com tech support forums there, the problem occurs a lot, but other people always fix it after rebuilding the search index, and I couldn't find anyone else who migrated from UBB and had this problem.
| HyToFry wrote: |

Yes, I do. However, as you probably know, it's going to be very difficult to migrate into the GL. Since you seem to have a lot of time on your hands, though... _________________ After years of disappointment with get rich quick schemes, I know I'm gonna get rich with this scheme. And quick! |
