May i remind you of this?

Want some HTML tags? Here they are, but be sure to delete the pending ads that i forgot about!
PS After editing/deleting a post, do most of everybody want to go to the TOP of the thread??? I for one would have liked to be kept at the current page, if i may.

Actually, I think it would be a good thing if deleting the first post does not delete the thread.
Hy, would changing that be a huge hassle? |

HTF, really, you're being too quick to changing everything to its very best. (editing now affects the acronym too EDIT: no it does not. I just got to a new browser. I don't know why that happened...)
But if you want it that way... ~shrug~ The index-page link to Discussion Forums has an alternate of Send us Feedback. :p

I promise, it's not green. It's "<!!BGCOLOR!!>" colored.
The script switches "<!!BGCOLOR!!>" to the color of your post when it builds the html. I just didn't add the switch to the preview. (and of course I won't now) |

Since this happened to another user, it must not be my imagining things. A page with LOTS of code tags doesn't always loads the right way. Some codes are not fixed-width, while others are. Any idea what causes it to behave like that?
EDIT: Nevermind, it probably was due to bad tags...

it doesn't ALWAYS happen, just from time to time. But it's so strange i thought you might have an idea of what's going on in general...
Also, BUG report: "< g > )" is rendered to "<g> "!!! |

| Regarding the problem with non-monospace fonts, I'm the other person who had that problem. Specifically, post #27 consistently displays correctly, and the others are all wrong. (Note: I'm using galeon/Linux, and I had thought that the problem was caused by simply not having the right font installed. But I can't understand why that one post would work right and not the others. This may be a problem with my browser and not GL.) |

This happens too seldom to be a problem, but...
If i get an ise deleting a post and i get back, i cannot click delete and submit b/c the textarea is empty and "you have not filled all required fields blah blah blah". Well that's ok since in my experience all ise-deleted posts remain deleted, but what if i just edit a message, remove some text, remove some more and after i remove ALL of it, i want to delete the post? I'll have to retype something (anything) in there for delete to work...

LOL!!! My answer to VSP "A simple little math problem" is entirely invisible, and acronym is blank! (i.e. <ACRONYM TITLE=""> But adding a space would necessitate too much of an effort for no real gains... (No bug, just letting everybody know.)

Damn, i am too darn perfectionist/nitpicky... I promise i'll restrain myself to posting only "TY notes" in here for a month and a half! i DO want any of my requests fulfilled by/on my b-day btw
Edit: I forgot to post the FR!!! Anyway we could see the date of the first post? It'd be of some help in VSP and especially in VSN!

TY for the today's active users!!! But could it render it so that the names are also links to profile? TYIA.
I wonder... If i edit a post, submit and get back (ISE or changed my mind), i have the edited text cached. However if i plain 'add reply', after getting back, i lose all text. That makes it hard for me to avoid ISE's when they do happen...
Ow yeah and what's the point of previewing a post if the deletepost checkbox is ticked? iow Make the redirecting conditional please.

For the "First Post Date", this has been asked before, it's just a matter of fitting a column in for it.

I don't follow you; I don't have this problem... If I go back the text is always there.
as for the preview with delete... I've never tried it. |

| Since i am usually saving the large topics to read offline, could you please remove the ineffective page linking? It is now <A HREF="/Forums/Forum9/HTML/..., which is absolutely useless. If the online retrieving is to work, it should read www.greylabyrinth.com/Forums/Forum9/HTML/..., but that's not very much useful either. What i mean is that i ain't going to create a /Forums/Forum9/HTML/ path on my HDD, so why not (please) remove it all and leave it as a local link ON THE SAME LEVEL in the directory tree? What'd be the counterargument for <A HREF=000001-2.html>? |

Not a problem for Hy to fix, just a general observation. WebTV no longer does chat as described when you click on the Chat icon above. It only supports MSN Messenger now.

I have a question - is there any way to discourage people (OK,OK, newbies) from reading the current puzzle, going to the discussion, and starting a new thread? It seems to be happening more and more... I just don't understand why they don't take the time to read what's already there. Now we have four "The Professor" threads... I love people figuring out puzzles for themselves.. I love the discussion, the eureka!, and if a puzzle answer is wrong, I love it when it's pointed out. But to have people ignore that there's three threads already, and start posting an answer... does it bug only me?

If they won't click the "read this before posting" thread, probably not.
I suppose we (by we, I mean, of course, mith ) could change the Go to Discussion Forums link to go to a pre-created thread for each puzzle. I don't think it would be too much effort to change it (although I am admitteedly ignorant of such things). That wouldn't stop people from clicking on "Post new" and creating new threads, but it might cut down a little.
Afterthought: Do we really need that button inside the threads themselves? If people want to add a thread to a forum, the most logical place to do it from is the thread listing, not inside one of the threads already existing.

Hmmm...I wonder how many newbies click on "Post New" instead of "Post Reply," being new to the whole GL discussion forums thing. I remember when someone did this in VSP (I won't say who ). |

I don't think so .
Another thing that might help would be to change the link graphic to something less ambigous. The first time I posted a reply, it took me a while to figure out which was which. |
