This puzzle is confusing, however the proper answer to the question of probabilty on the morning (or two mornings) after the event can only be 100% or zero. Putting SB to sleep didn't affect or change the outcome of the coin flip

The question asks what the probabilty WAS that the coin came up heads. If i flip a coin now and look at the outcome, the probablity that it came up heads was still 50%, even after the coin flip.

Actually, the problem stated that they asked her what the probability was that the coin came up heads.

If you say that I asked you what the probability was, you can answer either .5 or 1, depending on when you believe my time reference dealt with.

On sunday I flipped some coins.

If I flipped one coin, I'll only ask you on monday what the odds are that one coin came up heads.

If I flipped two coins, I'll ask you on monday and tuesday what the odds are that one coin came up heads.

You have a very bad memory, never know what day it is, and wont remember if you've been asked before. In fact, you'll barely remember the question that I just asked you, let alone something that happened many hours ago.

Being a strong puzzler, how would you answer the question? What are the odds that one of the coins I flipped came up heads?

Nick

I'll always say 50%, since I won't remember the parameters of the puzzle. Felicitous
