OK I've never used UBB before so I don't konw how this will look. If it doesn't come out right, I can just post a corrected reply I guess.
code:
+--------------------+
| +------------+|
O---+ O+ +-O-+ | |
1| | 2| | |3| | | |
| | | |+--+ | | | |
| | | || +--+ | | |
| | | || | | | |
+--+ | +--+ | +--+---+|
|1 | +-|2| | | |3 |----+
+--+ +--+ | +--+
| | | |
|+------+ |
+----------+
Here we have the houses as boxes on the bottom and utilities as O's on top. The third house connects to each by reaching around the top from the right. The middle house connects most directly to each. The first house connects to the first utility directly, to the third utility with a path going under the second house and then up, and to the second utility with a path that passes through the second house. Each house is connected to each utility and no connection crosses another. |

Great diagram. You could also show it this way: This is cadar's diagram.
I agree. The directions say nothing about prohibiting easements through the basement of one home. That would prevent the lines from crossong. |

| It has a solution that doesn't require basement crossings. I have a bitmap that I'll get onto a server and show y'all. |

| That doesn't work because House A is not connected to Utility B. |

Sorry HyToFry, that's no good either. You've got utility B connected to house 3 twice. You can't solve this problem in Euclidean space. It's easy in 3-space, but that solution has already been posted.

It's not the size of the spork, it's whether or not it's made of #7 recyclable plastic.
