| I have a problem with this puzzle. The puzzle and answer reffer to the laws of physics, but they do not seem to allow for all possible laws to be factors. An experienced hunter knows a maximum distance he may be from his prey in order to make an accurate kill. This distance ultamatly relies on physics, mainly the force propelling the projectile out of the gun. This basically means that when a hunter aims at the heart of his prey he will probably hit the heart, unless the prey is too far away, and that all depends on; the type of gun used, wind direction and speed, and the movement of the prey. Gravity is almost never a factor, and if it was, he/she would make appropriate adjustments on the "sights" of the gun to compensate. To top it off, at the end of the puzzle, the hunter is only a few meters away from the monkey, so given the force of a projectile fired from a gun (even an air gun)the monkey would be hit if aimed directly at him, gravity would not be a factor on such a short distance. Conclusion, it is a dumb puzzle with a dumber answer! |
