| this is so easy! take all the elastic out, and find a bodkin (a bodkin is a tool used in sewing, it long and skinny and ooens lik plyers, you put a strin between the claws and then close it and put this thing down that won't let it open) and then you thread the elastic throught the shorts with the guide of the bokin. |

| You could also use a needle to move the string along. My mother use to fix it this way. |

I know about the safety pin solution but I had read about an alternate means.
The solution I read about was to soak the band (or drawstring in sweatpants) in water and put it in the freezer (it makes it easier if you arrange it in a circle). Once the band or string freezes it is easy to rethread. |

| Seems like it would be easier to use a straightened-out coat hanger to pull the cord through. The safety-pin solution sounds like more work. |

you could also tie the cord to a small furry rodent and make it crawl through the small space then .there fore this would make u champion of the world.

Tieing a cord to a small furry rodent isn't as easy as it sounds, and it tends to make them somewhat uncooperative, so it's hard to get them to crawl through at that point. If you do manage to tie the cord to the rodent, you might be able to use the aforementioned bodkin to pull the rodent through.
I think I'm bored.
Champion of the world, ay?

vanyo,i dont think i like your style now i had to change my name cos i could not remember nograds password.
but have u ever tried trying a string to a rodent who in most cases is furry.i will take that as a no
firstly i would sedate (spelling) the creature then shave a ring around its mid section so i dont have trouble tying a string to him .
now hear comes the engenious part ,you no the way in cartoons they put a dangling carrot i front of a donkey. well we could strap a rod to its back with a furry rodent treat on the end then stick the rod and his head into the end and he will walk forward against the power of his will because of temptation. (now that is a lesson for the kids do give in to temptation)
or you could just poke the thing round or shoot him into the hole at a high velocity hoping he comes out the other end still tied to the string.
thank u i am now king.

If I was a small furry rodent (and I was, remember?) I wouldn't fall for that trick. You really underestimate the intelligence of these small furry rodents.
And why can't you just push the rod through the hole? |
