just take 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 bars from each of the vaults.

so we have 2 equations to solve :

9*x + 10*y = total weight of all 21 bars.

and

x + y = 21

we solve these equationd to get x and y

and we know which vaults are fake and which are pure gold!

... but what happen if the # of fake bars seems to be 10?

Are the fakes in 1,3, and 6?
Or in 1,4, and 5?
Or maybe 2,3, and 5?

The post "read here before posting" indicates that some substantial effort has already been made on this puzzle, and that it might be wise to check it out before immediately posting a brand new "solution" the the puzzle.
