The forum's discussion has been more than a little bit scattered on this particular puzzle, with a good deal of discussion in one arguably mis-titled thread, but then a number of new threads each starting with a new self-proclaimed correct answer (and missing the relevant discussion that preceded them).

There, you'll find what seems to have emerged as a more-or-less consensus as the "best" answer, plus a good deal or rumination on the various ambiguities in the puzzle iteslf (which are considerable).
