Hi!

I got my answer by assuming that the green house is anywhere left of the white house. Not next door to it.

So here's my answer.
Could someone please tell me if its right?

Ow come on... I should have made some time to actually solve this over again, just for the most complete collection of the possible "not adjacent" answers... i'll just write a program to do it for me - piece of cake.

Attn mith: this is the second post i make that might be regarded as the complete info needed for the official answer.

code:

First is on left
.green..blue...red...yellow..white..NonAdjacent
norweg.german..brit...dane...swede.
.birds..cats..horses..FISH...dogs..
.Pall..Prince..Blend..Dunh..BlueMas
coffee..water..milk...tea....beer..
.
.green..blue...red...yellow..white..Non
norweg.german..brit...dane...swede.
.birds..FISH..horses..cats...dogs..
.Pall..Prince..Blend..Dunh..BlueMas
coffee..water..milk...tea....beer..
.
.green..blue..yellow..red....white..Non
norweg.german..swede..brit...dane..
.FISH...cats...dogs..horses..birds.
.Blend.Prince..Dunh..BlueMas.Pall..
coffee..water..milk...beer...tea...
.
.green..blue...white..red...yellow..Non
norweg.german..swede..brit...dane..
.birds..cats...dogs..horses..FISH..
.Pall..Prince..Blend.BlueMas.Dunh..
coffee..water..milk...beer...tea...
.
.green..blue...white.yellow..red....Non
norweg.german..swede..dane...brit..
.birds..cats...dogs...FISH..horses.
.Pall..Prince..Blend..Dunh..BlueMas
coffee..water..milk...tea....beer..
.
.green..blue...white.yellow..red...<- your solution (Non)
norweg.german..swede..dane...brit..
.birds..FISH...dogs...cats..horses.
.Pall..Prince..Blend..Dunh..BlueMas
coffee..water..milk...tea....beer..
.
yellow..blue...red....green..white.<-official.solution (Adjacent)
norweg..dane...brit..german..swede.
.cats..horses..birds..FISH...dogs..
.Dunh...Blend..Pall..Prince.BlueMas
.water..tea....milk..coffee..beer..
.
First is on right
.green..white..red....blue..yellow..Adjacent
german..swede..brit...dane..norweg.
.FISH...dogs...birds.horses..cats..
Prince.BlueMas.Pall...Blend..Dunh..
coffee..beer...milk...tea....water.

And before anyone asks, the dots are there because the tags for fixed-width fonts do not handle multiple white spaces very well (actually they stink - and shrink!).

PS Any proofcheck of all these would be wellcome - i spent so much time on that program (without being now able to guarantee it) that it would have been easier to solve that by hand...

The hints never said anything about the green house being adjacent to the white house. So therefore, it opens up a wider range of solutions (including mine).

I suggest from now on the official solution should have a link to the discussion(s) that the studied puzzle created.

In this case for instance, of course "immediately to the right of it" was a popular theme of debate - and i think alternate solutions were found. Though i doubt that they were all presented, as given above.

If possible, i will link to that discussion from here. And for alternates, see Ski_Bum's solution.

There are also xero_cool's I found alternate solution to Einstein's Challenge, DrugAbuser's Einstein's Challenge, Cswercko's Einstein's Challenge. And there are others that do not mention your assumption.
