Part of the fun of a 3X3X3 is that it's possible to come up with multiple possibilites not intended by the author. For example, your HEAD triad (potato HEAD, chicken HEAD, hammerHEAD) could alternately include human HEAD, HEADman, post HEAD, redHEAD, HEAD tax, or wellHEAD.

How to choose? You've got to weed out the choices by finding a set of nine triads that use all 27 original words, AND form three triads of their own. A well-designed 3X3X3 will have multiple potential triads, but only one clear set that meshes together. Since the words suggested above in this thread all lead with reasonable unequivocableness to WELD, those are probably correct.

Well, I admit to also wanting to shoehorn "unequivocableness" into the conversation. Not something one gets to do every day.

i personally like to try and incorporate any phrase starting with love right after the word "but." as in, "'dream on' is a great aerosmith song, but(t) 'love in an elevator' sucks!"
