Jumping on the DP bandwagon, I recently updated my web site and now have a working page for puzzles.
Logain's Puzzles
I'm still working on it, so while I have the puzzles posted, I didn't include the answers yet , but you could always ask me for the solution if you want. I only used IE on it, so if there are any Netscape bugs let me know...not that I'm sure I can fix them.

Just checked out your site. I used DSC on agar gels in part of my final year's research project at university. Brings back a lot of memories - the machine we worked on was old. To give you an idea, it used 8" discs to record the data!

The main advantage of course, was that I could set an experiment up and leave it running for half a day whilst I did more interesting things, not so closely related to actual work.

STiG, our DSC wasn't that bad, but the one I used was pretty ancient too. The computer ran with a specific OS used for running the software and collecting data. We had to actually reboot the computer into DOS and convert the data to a text file just so we could sneaker network it to another computer

But I agree that DSC and FTIR experiments were great cause once you started them you just left it running for an hour or so and did what ever you wanted in between. No need to sit at the equipment and monitor it.

My last semester there, of course, they bought a 2nd DSC which ran on Windows software. And I couldn't use it cause all my experiments were calibrated for the other machine.
