it's not done, but this should make it easier (maybe?)
each line is divisible by 3-so when you split them into groups by threes it looks like this:
880-951-887-212-909
599-657-104-919-488-606-401
646-447-525-333-102-500
757-564-912-100-774
991-546-777-828-300-401
530-100-680-310-561-320
101-100-770-202
559-776-100-875-540-771-770
694-875-693-555-581-421
there are more than 26 combos-but notice that the sums of each of the groups looks promissing:
16-15-23-05-18
23-18-05-19-20-12-05
16-15-12-09-03-05
19-15-12-01-18
19-15-21-18-03-05
08-01-14-04-12-05
02-01-14-04
19-20-01-20-09-15-14
19-20-18-15-14-07
edit:
power
wrestle
police
solar
source
handle
band
station
strong
wagon: band, station, handle
man: strong, police, power

Sure. Wagon is wrong. Man is correct but you've haven't got all the connections right. Keep trying!

Hmmm... maybe this:
Perhaps HANDLE goes under MAN instead of WAGON. This would free up a word under MAN. I would guess that the word freed up is STRONG. Then we have:
ARM: strong, wrestle, band
MAN: power, police, handle
(POWER or ENERGY): solar, source, station
Of course, if this is right, we now have the problem of deciding which of POWER or ENERGY is correct, as well as what word goes with the level 2 words. If POWER is correct, though, a word would be in both levels 1 and 2, which from what I've seen is generally frowned on in VSP. |

i thought it was going to be tougher, to tell you the truth. i thought the second set of numbers(the sums) weren't in the a=1, b=2 sort of system. i was all prepared to figure it out, but Mog, who I was on the phone with at the time, said "you know, the first one is power" making me feel like a dufus(more than usual, that is).
great puzzle. i thoroughly enjoyed it. |

Wow, nice job, SK. I guess I was kinda off with the whole water thing. (And car power too, I suppose... ) Oh well. And don't call yourself a dufus, mon ami! Only I can do that. Anyway, nice puzzle, Gomez! |

scooby-
the portions of the posts that look like nothing's there are invisible. highlight the sections to see what's there.
and yes- those are the words that were encrypted, but next you need 3 words that link to 3 sets of three words(these three sets come from the 9 encrypted words). then you find one word that links the three linking words, thus solving the puzzle.
