I don't particularly like this one and the next. They're great in the context of the competition, but here they're a bit dull.

It appears to be spelling out "Answer: HomeStarRunner", which is the name of the website all this stuff is on. So, is the solution just "homestarrunner"?

i think a name of the third Mage should be the answer, not just 'HomeStarRunner'.

Homestar Runner is a character in some of the stuff on the site, so he might well be a Mage.

[edit] yeah, what mikeamok said.

Who in the heck has time to figure all that out?
Especially since the clues are scrambled, and you don't know which email file has which clue, or even when to note the missing word (some of those files are long, but they're ALL hilarious).
Is there something obvious I'm missing?

Nope.

But it's worth noting that this puzzle was originally written for a weekend-long puzzle competition. It was assumed that anyone trying to solve had lots of time. This was probably the puzzle which required the most research - the other 78aren't *quite* as demonic in that sense.

w00t! for sbemail puzzles!!!

without help from this thread, i managed to get all but 4, of which i suspected one. And i still hadn't gone through every e-mail yet. I did pretty good recognizing the quotes, imo, without even visiting the website after reading the puzzle. And yes, CV, I did LOVE this puzzle
