OK, since there are a number of Biblical/Christian references in the list, I was pondering whether or not 68 could be "the 11 Pauline Epistles." The only problem I see with this interpretation is that there are thirteen Pauline Epistles, not eleven. Gavzee, any chance of this being a typo?

Also, Gavzee, d'ya think you could edit your last list to add in the ones that were subsequently correctly identified?

(I got lucky on this one, thinking, "I wonder if M is meters." Googled on "979 meters" and there it was.)

Gazvee: Could 50 be "Top 7 at 7"? There's a local radio station where I live that plays the Top Nine at Nine (o'clock); is there something in Ireland that does similarly?

More musing: Could the "I" in 12 or 18 be Irish or Ireland?

the 11 Publius Enigma.

Think I have them all - here are some clues (both additions and corrections)
12...think school poetry
44...comedy film about the fuzz
72...also school english - try Shakespere
18...close but not correct - try another group of islands
34...close, but not a friend
52...think time
