Anagram Squares are a puzzle I invented a long time ago. The goal is to unscramble the words in each row and read down the bold diagonal to find a word related to the theme. So if the theme is colors, a puzzle might be:
code:
1 ?.. TRA 1 RAT
2 .?. AET --> 2 TEA
3 ..? DCO 3 COD
The catch? Most words anagram into more than one possibility. Row 1 could have also been ART or TAR. Similarly, 2 could have been EAT or ETA. Only the given solution, however, spells out RED, a color.
This time around the theme is a mystery. You'll discover what:
- A random person
- A Pokemon
- Make wider or larger
- Prior
- Interest or benefit
have in common besides all being six letters long. (Oh, those clues are in random order. Tee hee.)
code:
A.
1 ?.. BTA
2 .?.. ENET
3 .?.. HATC
4 ..?. ASEM
5 ..?. EMLA
6 ..? AOF
B.
1 ?.... EDMAR
2 ?.. WNO
3 .?. EYR
4 .?. EFO
5 ..? ABN
6 ....? AGERT
C.
1 ?... AEMC
2 ?.... LOBWE
3 .?... WSSIH
4 ...?. EUTRB
5 ....? WTROH
6 ...? CLOO
D.
1 ?.. RBU
2 .?.. ATER
3 .?.. OFRA
4 ..?. SPHO
5 ..?. ARET
6 ..? ETE
E.
1 ?..... EDWORN
2 .?... LSPIL
3 ?... EFLI
4 ...? EBAT
5 ...?. LAPET
6 .....? HCYSET

A geometric sequence?
Oh, and I think your fourth anagram square has a slight flaw...fifth word, there seems to be an 'r' missing.

| Fixed. It might be a good idea to invisible that first line for other people. Also, I was expecting to post the individual anagram square solutions too. You don't have to post them, q, but the next poster should. Invisible of course. |
