Based on an article I was just reading:

Which animal is described here?

What is three metres long, runs faster than an Olympic sprinter, smells with its tongue and has a breath worse than a garbage tip in a heatwave?

Long Feng, the actual quote is:

What do you think of modern civilization? --I think it would be a good idea.

Western civilization is a common misquote.

One of many internet sites which support the quote as I used it. This one is by an Indian.

Not being particularly enamored with Western civilization myself, I'd much prefer the quote as you had it...perhaps I am wrong; I was sure that the Western was misquoted. I will investigate it tonight.

And I quote:

"The Columbia World of Quotations. 1996.

Reporter: “Mr. Gandhi, what do you think of Western civilization?”
Gandhi: “I think it would be a very good idea.”

ATTRIBUTION: Mohandas K. Gandhi (1869–1948), Indian political and spiritual leader. Attributed.

There is no evidence of this exchange having occurred in fact, though E.F. Schumacher mentions seeing a film of Gandhi disembarking at Southampton, England, in 1930, in which Gandhi is asked his opinion on modern civilization, and gives the answer as above. (Good Work, ch. 2, 1979)."

Well, that didn't help at all, did it???
