Ok, this can be a spot for anyone to post any riddle they have heard or made up (Please no ludicrously old chestnuts), and everyone else can make suggestions to improve on them

My first (and probably only) attempt probably won't take very long to solve, but I'm sure there are better riddlers out there than me.

Rhyming isn't essential, but it adds a nice touch I think

...
...

They ever have around us been
By all of you they have been seen
Whilst one waxes, the other does wane
But equal parts always remain
Though these opposing parties be
Twice alike in propriety
Each holds sway over the other
But one may yet usurp it's brother
So those who have true vision see
They're halves of the same entity
United they make an eternal all
But if one should break, the other soon shall fall
