While watching Mortal Kombat last night, I realized that it's fairly common for a character to be called "The Chosen One" in films. Without much thought, I could think of 3 other movies where this is true. How many can you name?
If a movie is part of a series, name the series but only count it as 1. For example, if the very randy title character of Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery and Austin Powers: The Spy Who Shagged me was referred to as The Chosen One, then name it Austin Powers and count it as 1. |

Easy ones: Matrix, The Golden Child, Buffy the Vampire Slayer,
and cheesy ones: Chosen One: Legend of the Raven, Kung Pow-Enter the Fist (does this count since it's spoofing Matrix among others?) |

| Good, I quickly came up with Matrix and Golden Child, too. Forgot about Buffy, though. Nice. |

Isn't Luke Skywalker "The chosen one"? I'm not sure!

Any similarities between what I say and what I mean are purely coincidental. |

| Right family, Cadmium, wrong generation, though. That was the 3rd I quickly came up with last night. |

No, Anakin Skywalker was The Chosen One. "When he turned to the dark side, your father ceased to exist. So what I said was true, from a certain perspective..." Sorry, a little annoying Obi-Wan speech there...
DV is still being referred to by his given name of Anakin Skywalker in TPM and AOTC. We'll see his transformation from AS into DV in Episode 3.

| loved the movie, and (for some unknown reason) forgot about it. I'd have to watch it again to see if the words "chosen one" were used, but she was the 'child born of the prophecy that bears the mark.' Does that count? |

| Was Conan ever called the Chosen One? I can't remember the movie now. Also, are we only doing films or are TV series allowed? |

What about The Mummy and The Mummy Returns.
It seems that those 2 run amok with 'chosen' things

The closest thing to a "Chosen One" in LOTR is Aragorn who is the king who returns, but I am pretty sure that term is never used in the books. Or perhaps Frodo who is "chosen" as the ring-bearer, but again, I don't think it applies.
I have only seen the film once, but I don't remember it being there.
