First Annual Puzzle Design Tournament is starting on 24 May 2002.
Puzzle Design Tournament is an online and annual event. It's simply
a "send one-solve multi optimization puzzles" competition.
Send an e-mail to cihan@otuzoyun.com as soon as possible stating that
you want to participate, because there will be at most 35 competitors
this year. However, suitable puzzles will be taken into consideration
as well. Any puzzle may be rejected by me.
Calendar:
-Deadline of puzzle submission: Last minute of 24 May, 2002 (GMT +02:00).
-Publication of the puzzles: A day between 24 and 31 May, 2002.
-Deadline of sending answers: Last minute of 22 June, 2002 (GMT +02:00).
You can see the rules and progress of the tournament in the
tournament website:

I asked mith if the *~blinks~* was about the competition
idea or not.
He answered:
"It wasn't really a bad blink, I was just a bit surprised
to see something similar again so soon."
The idea, "Prepare puzzles-solve others'", is not a new one.
Furthermore, I did send the rules of the tournament to the
puzzle e-mail list Nobnet one week earlier than I post here,
that is days before seeing mith's suggestion.
I'd prefer being blamed on stealing these ideas:
http://konstantin.knop.com/puzzles/tournament.html
http://www.worldpuzzle.org/forum/read.php?f=1&i=68&t=68
not an unfortunate coincidence.
Actually, I was thinking of this tournament just before I
started my 60-week optimization puzzles competition more than
two years ago. It wasn't possible since my English was worse
and you can't reach enough people in Turkey for a puzzle design
competition:

I hope it's clear.
I'm still waiting Labyrintians to participate in the tournament.
I remember Paladin's First Annual Puzzle-Solving Championship.
"Reconstructing the alphabet" puzzle was a nice one.
