| Based on experience with the IT threads, I think it is unrecoverable. Why not register a new name (give it a password no longer than THIRTEEN letters!) and post a new clue. |

Here we go. Same clue, but 13 letter answer (I took out a letter; it'll make sense when you get it).
The twelfth ass will run away with your sister (13). |

Oh, all right...along the lines of
the dog sitting in the refrigerator = perpendicular
from an earlier thread (Calfaile's, I think.)
It's not really the best cryptic crossword clue, but it makes sense (to a large extent, anyway). |

Since the search function seems to have been disabled, I can't track down this earlier thread. But "the dog sitting in the refrigerator = perpendicular" makes no sense to me whatsoever, so I am no closer at all to figuring out this clue.
Even if everyone else understands this and solves the original clue, can someone explain the dog-in-the-fridge thing anyway? |

Tahnan, here's the link to Calfaile's thread.
Definitions
Perpendicular was probably the only one I really never understood either. |

Oh, god, that one, right. Well, on the one hand, I'd love an explanation of "perpendicular," if anyone out there in GL-land understood it. On the other...well, I'm willing to give this a little time to see who gets it from the clue, but my feeling is that there's something inherently non-cryptic about this, and I wonder if anyone will get it.
Maybe it's me. |

I am leaning toward 'Rumplestiltskin', but that would have been 15 letters to start with, not 14, and I can't figure a way to shorten it to 13. |

| I think perhaps the collective Labyrinth has yielded on this one too. Maybe another clue, more straightforward? Or another word entirely? |

Hint: it's a dual definition type.

scarecrow
races around = scare (anagram)
crow = bird
scarecrow = brainless character from Wizard of Oz
also, loose canon = immoral priest
loose cannon = something (or someone) which cannot be controlled
This pit may suffer constipation! (10)
(Once we went on a pub-crawl dressed as priests. It seemed like a good idea at the time. There is a photo of a friend of mine, dressed as a Priest, putting money into a condom machine. The photo was dubbed "The Loose Cannon", hence the origin of the previous clue !)
editted to include explanation of solutions.
