Like PrincessPony asked, can our article be about anything? Like cars, medicine, computers, anything that's advancing?

one other thing, what IS the last discussion? Future, health care, anything we want? I think the war has been discussed pretty good, maybe we could about the upcoming Star Wars episode 3? Just an idea. Any comments?

Along the star wars topic, maybe we could talk about the SDI\"star wars" program. Are we technologically advanced enough to have a defense system on satelites?

Hey everyone,
It will be interesting to see what kind of networking and technology we help Iraq with. We discussed a lot on the effects these systems can have on a country. How will this help the people of Iraq? This is interesting because the very few people of Iraq who had communication such as television where very controlled in what they saw which effected their views. I have heard talk of us setting up a t.v. station and Bush/Blair have already broadcast speeches to the people.
I feel the effects and benefits of sharing health care through technology as well as hands on which we talked about this week in class will be great for all involved. For example I have seen many things going on in the hospitals of Iraq that could be avoided with the simple sharing of information. They reported that Jessica Lynch the rescued p.o.w. was going to have her legs amputated by doctors in Iraq just like many people they show on t.v. This is something that will not have to happen now that she is home with our information on treatments. Just think of the knowledge we have and will share which will stop unecessary pain and suffering and even death.
I find Marion's lessons very interesting, They really get me thinking.

so are we just going to help them establish their own government, are we going to intervene at all with that...i'm just curious how exactly is iraq going to be left when the forces leave for their own countries?
i'm sure we could share a lot of information and help change/advance some of their current practices...are we as a nation going to develop the country into a country again or just a 51st state?

I certainly think the U.S. should help in putting Iraq back together again - that's help them - not do it for them. The Iraqi people need to step up and take leadership so that down the road, they or the rest of the world can't blame the U.S. for taking over.

Did you see on the news just this morning how they are trying to get the Iraqi people back to work and into jobs to get the country going again. I believe the U.S. has its heart in the right place and truly wants to help the people over there get a new government going. We are not like some of the news reports from that area comparing Bush to Hitler - marching in and taking over.

of course Bush isn't like hitler, hitler wanted to take over the world by force. We want to be able to feel peace while living in our own country. Back then, the weapons werent able to reach other continents... no they can, thats why we have to protect ourselves from terror all over the world and if we can do that and free a people from a dictor then thats even better... people who think otherwise need to get educated on the subject.

It's amazing how sometimes technology can be a burden - just with the computer or video games - it can eat up our precious time that should be better spent elsewhere.

I'm leaving on a trip - I have my phone, PDA, digital camera - I have to make sure I have all of the recharging cords that go with these items. Then I worry that I can't backup my PDA while I am gone. These are just little simple things, but still tend to control our lives.

As we have heard in class, technology is everywhere!! And just see what lies ahead in the future - like some of the things we talked about in class. If we are not in the specific information technology field, we don't think much about where technology has come from and where it is going, but this class has made me think more about technology and wonder where it will lead us in the future.

Wow that thing Marion was talking about in class that they could beam an apple or person to another place is amazing. It does remind me of Star Trek. Maybe they weren't way out there when they started that on their shows. I don't know if I want it to actually happen because it would be like cloning a person and I think that is wrong. Anyway, crazy things are happening.

I think that it will be interesting to see what new things that our children will have in the future. I know that my parents talk about records and other stuff that I have never heard of before. maybe when we are older our kids will look back and say what are cd's or dvd's. I just think it will be cool to see what the future brings.

soon enough cd's will be thing of the past, they are already coming out with new and smaller disks. our t.v.'s are gonna look pretty huge to then next generations as well..it's just funny to think about our kids and grandkids looking at the things we used in our lives as completely out of date.-because we are used to thinking that about our parents, and their records,... and our grandparents with their huge radios. ...we are going to be those old geezers someday!

Nano technology really impressed me. Can you imagine the changes; what we could do with something like that? All that will become obsolete. Will be interesting!

Hey JoBlack, I have wondered that as well, with the reality shows. Maybe we will need bigger and better stuff to stimulate our viewing pleasure, like the running man. I could totally see something like that happening in the future, local TV is getting bad enough as it is.

I just think of all the things that have changed in my Grandpa's life time (he was born in 1926), the technology. I do think the next 70 years will be as drastic.

I think that this new futuristic stuff is pretty cool. I think that the face thing with facial expressions is kind of scary. I wouldn't want to be looking at that too much, maybe they could work on the attractiveness of the face. I wouldn't mind having a lot of the things we talked about though. I think that the phones, or cameras, or video recorders, whatever they are called now are pretty cool. The phones that can take pictures and audio.

Technology is getting crazy! When Marion said that they made a printer that can print out working organs, I was shocked. In high school, I had a guest speaker come to my health class and he was telling us about a guy that cut his hand off just below the knuckles, and the doctor actually sewed his hand to his chest. He did this so it would grow all of this extra skin, and after about eight months the doctor cut his hand from his chest. The doctor built thses new artifcial joints and built this guy a new hand, so this guy didn't have to have a hook or some claw thing for a hand, the doctor actually made him a new one, crazy.

Its going to be very interesting to see all the new toys technology brings us in the near future. They already have a Robot out that can get your mail for you, and do many other things, I believe Honda has just came out with these robots, there is a smaller one and larger robot, that both serve different purposes. I think it is great to see technology put to good use, these robots may one day be running our homes, if we are to old or crippled to get the newspaper, or pour some coffee. What will they think of next?

How dare you ask such a question Allaround1. You mean to tell me you haven't been keeping up on your reading all semester? Don't you remember teach said if you don't keep up on the reading you will be "doomed". I am completely taken back by your lack of motivation to fulfill this classes requirements. Tee Hee... so... does anyone know the answer to his question? Good luck all... on your educational journey!!!

I think the future of technology will be quite promising and maybe quite dooming for society. With all this great technology coming out I can definately tell why america is the fattest nation in the world. I guess now we dont even have to get off the couch to vacuum the floor. America land of the free? Maybe we should change to land of the lazy

I wouldn't call Americans exactly lazy, we just orginize ourselves very well so that we don't waste our time on small petty jobs. We maximize ourselves. How do you think we made it so far in the first place? They may have called Edison lazy for making a light bulb, because then he wouldn't have to make a fire or go prepare oil for a lantern; but the technology from that lazy idea blasted us that much farther ahead.

Have a good semester all, its been a pretty informational class. Is anyone going to stay logged on these discussion boards? I might.
