No, actually, and that rather bugs me. The capital of Moldova escapes me.
[edit]I did this without the quiz link. With the multiple choice answer, it becomes easy.[/edit]

Most Europeans with an interest in Geography will find this quiz quite easy. The reason I started with an easy multiple choice quiz was because most folk on here are non-European, thus making it rather hard for them to comprehend places they probably have never visited.
When enough folk have tried the Euro quiz, we shall move onto African Capitals, then onto Asian capitals, then Australisian, then the Americas.
At the end of this short course, there will be a small exam covering all world capitals. |

Quiz 1 = 100%
Quiz 2 = 93%
Quiz 3 = 100%
DP's right; it's much, much easier with the multiple choice.

1:50%
2:40%
3:69% (it should have been higher- i made a stupid mistake)
so, how bad is it when i haven't heard of all the countries on that quiz- and for quiz 2- most of the cities
maybe because we were never taught it in school? (but that's no excuse, right?)
oh blah!

Oh good god. I dont even know half of those countries, let alone their capitals. Pah!
Quiz 1: 43% (I got 4 correct from guessing)
Quiz 2: 60 % (8 correct from guessing)
Quiz 3: 61% (4 correct from guessing)
You must remedy this situation, Proffessor Aga. I want to be a worldly knowledgable man.

We will go back on the Euro countries when enough folk have tried the Geo quiz.
I'll take it a step at a time through the Euro countries, at least for all that are not familiar with them.

OK, so how many countries in Africa today? I seem to recall it was 60ish, but that was years ago and they change about three times a year, right? How can we hope to keep up with them?

3x100% on the quizzes. Way too easy for anyone with a reasonable grip on European geography. The only questions I had to make an educated guess on were the capitals of the Netherlands. I was also unsure about a few eastern capitals (Albania, for example) but I could deduce the correct one from what choices were already taken.
Now, had there been questions like
What is the capital of Lithuania ?
Vilnius
Riga
Tallinn
or
What is the capital of Hungary ?
Budapest
Bucharest
Sofia
it would have been more of a challenge. |

100% (38%sure, 31%maybe's, 31%unknowns)
100% (having to pick Valetta for Malta just one question below i found out the cap. of Liechtenstein) - ow and i never heard of Netherlands having two capitals before!
47%sure 13%maybe's 40%unknowns
100% (69% 15% 15%)
the other way around (this city is capital for ...): 100%, 100% (again i got 14 only b/c of 4), 100% (i finally had to make educated guesses to differentiate between 12 and 13 ).
But at least i can place all in their place without the borders outlined to help me.

I assume it's Where In The World Is Carmen Sandiego (something that starts with D), but I could be wrong.
I used to love that show. The computer game was cute too, but the show was better. |

Where in the world is Carmen Sandiego would be correct. It's a very small graphic game that will teach you a little about world geography. Pretty much you chase her all over the world by following clues as to where should would fly to next by going to the library, market, bank, etc.
It's kinda fun =) |

Pah Pah Pah I say! I mixed up the answers to the two capitals of the Netherlands! So I got only 100-86-100% on theses quizzes .
I really have to object though to anybody that teaches Geography of the variety "capital of this is that, highest waterfall is 666 metres" and so on. That is hardly the point. |

| w00t! 100% on all three, but then I used to work for the visa office of the State Department and most (if not all) of our embassies are in the capital city of their host country, so I got used to seeing the cities associated with their respective countries. |
