Oh, and people are right about play money games not being anything like real games with the following caveats:

1) They play EXACTLY like absurdly low-stakes home games (nickel, dime, quarter type stuff).
2) Surprisingly enough, I have found that the 5 person Omaha hi-lo 8 or better play tables at poker room do not play significantly differently from my home game (which is structured sort of like a $1-$2 game). This is not always the case of course; you still run into the hyperaggressive assholes who raise every time, but for the most part I play just about the same style as I do at home.

My wife played poker for perhaps the 2nd time in her life Sunday with the guys. Using the knowledge she's heard me go on and on about for so long (not to mention a nice run of cards) she promptly kicked ass and took money. She bought in for $20 (recall our usuall buy-in is $40) and turned it into $50.
