http://www.gamefaqs.com/features/contest/c03sum.html

It's just like the basketball tourney, you make a bracket and get points based on how many match ups you can acurately call.

I thought it might be fun to do like we did then. If you don't want to register to see the bracket, I can copy the whole thing over. I'll probably do that.

Well, it's a summer long popularity poll contest. On july 1st link vs aiai will be put up. Whoever recieves more votes advances to the next round.

Then over the next 31 days the first round will continue in like fashion untill only 32 characters are left. Then the winners of the first round will play each other, to drop down to 16. Etc etc untill 1 is left.

That's the format, the bracket-making scoring is trying to figure out ahead of time who is going to win each poll (just like the NCAA march madness, except instead of trying to predict the outcome of a game, you're trying to predict which of the 2 is more popular)

For each 1st round fight you call corectly, it's worth 1 point. 2 for each 2nd round, 4 for each 3rd, etc. untill predicting the over all winner is worth 32 points.

As an example, here is last year's bracket: http://www.gamefaqs.com/features/contest/c02sumbracket.html

Final was link over mario.

For the GL, I figure there are two ways we could compete.
1. Register with gaemfaqs and make your own bracket (There is a prize for the top 10), then we can compare as it goes through.
2. If you don't want to register with gamefaqs you can make your bracket from the above post.

Or we could just forget the whole thing as a dumb idea

Deth spent about half a week asking everyone who came into GLC who would win what. Since mostly Hy was in GLC, FF characters seem to be highly favoured to win

FF characters will win. No matter who they're up against tons of drooling fanboys imeadatly pick their Squaresoft swethearts.

Mind you, I'm a fan of the FF games myself, but there are far better characters out there. Like Samus Aran. WTF is wrong with you people for not voting Samus Aran as champion?!

FF's (and RPG chars in general) did statistically very well except in cases when they faced a deeply rooted classic character. Sephiroth did the best job at defending Square, as he took out both Samus and Megaman before falling to Link.

However, Seph lost to Link by much less than Mario did. That's why I have my final as Link over Seph.

Samus will no doubt make the quarter finals but doesn't have much chance getting by Link.

Where is Chip?
They should make a sequel to Chip's Challenge. That'd rock.
Why did Laura Croft not win, exactly?

Chip!! Well, now that I think about it, Chip is pretty damn weak...he can't even swim without flippers! Not to mention, he's almost completely at the mercy of every single creature...besides running away, his only defensive move is tricking a monster into drowning by its own stupidity.
They were supposed to make a Chip's Challenge II! I even have a supposed demo video from it, but I never saw the actual game.

I guess it's fair the don't put Manuel Calavera in. After all nobody else would stand a chance if they did.

Obviously, as he never got the high popularity he deserved, my post was tongue in cheek. I still think he is the Best. Computer Game. Character. Ever though.

Too many in my opinion.

But that's what you get when you have nominations on a largely-RPG-biased site.

Trogdor would be a bit unfair.

Do you invite the Spurs to play in March Madness?
