I've never done a hot seat, and I don't think I ever will. I don't think Quail has done one either. Anybody else in the 'never done a hot seat group'?

I haven't either. It would be too hard to decide which thing is the worst I've ever done when I probably don't remember most of them, and I've already seen a picture of Sofis.

Guesses for other people who will Never Do A Hot Seat:

Borodog
Agamemnon
Pablo

And I certainly respect them for that. I believe they understand the True Price paid for running such a thing.

But I think it's only fair to say that equal, and possibly greater, respect must be given to those who know the cost and brave the Heat. Off the top of my head I'll name Paladin, Dragon Phoenix and Werebear as prime examples. There's been other's so if I didn't mention you, please don't take offense.

But there's no doubt, the typical Hot Seat participant is a Clueless Wonder who makes an embarrassment of both themselves and the Spirit of The Hot Seat when they wuss out at the first sign of any question with substance. I know, I've already gone of on a rant about this before...but it bears repeating.

Folks, the Hot Seats here should be the ultimate sign of trust and respect in both directions. Please don't cheapen them, and insult those brave souls who adhere to the true Spirit of them, by taking them too lightly. (Hint: prefacing a Hot Seat with "I'm bored, so here you go!" is about as insulting as it gets, and marks you indelibly as One Who Just Doesn't Get It.)

I did one, but deliberately nuked it after two weeks. I'm not sure exactly where that puts me on the 'trust and respect' meter.

It's interesting that the people here who would be the most interesting candidates for a good serious Hot Seat are also the most reticent about starting one. As I said already, I must respect their decision, but the loss is keenly felt.

I started one a while back, it's been pruned. Alas, I violated The Rule, but did answer all questions honestly. Maybe someday I'll redo it, like a month or two before I leave for college, if the demand is there.

If you don't mind me saying so Coyote, it's a shame you deleted your hotseat, I would have enjoyed reading it (not to mention asking questions myself).

I too would also like to see a Pablo and/or Quailman hotseat.
Us youngsters have not had a full and long enough life to make an interesting hotseat.
This is probably why I have not done one. I deem myself to uninteresting and lacking in lifes experiences to hold a hotseat audience for longer than a page. Agreed, some more than others on here have their more interesting ways about them, and these people especially would be highly
entertaining in their hotseats.
Blah blah blah, you get my Rourke's on this!

Is this the same chap who keeps going on about Quality over Quantity?

I'm not fool enough to think I could talk you into doing a Hot Seat, but I have to say it would certainly rank up there as one of the more memorable ones.

Ding ding ding.

It smacks of boastfullness to me to start a hot seat, and quite frankly, almost all are pointless and vapid. My apologies to all the pointless and vapid hot seat initiators.

i have nothing against hot seats... I just don't find the majority of them that interesting and I'm sure others would think the same of mine if I ever started one (which I don't intend to)

No fair! That's different. One is what I do, and the other is a favorite topic. If somebody out there was an avid model railroader, I wouldn't think them boastful for starting a Model Railroading Hot Seat.
