Inspired by Travelling Antrax, let's all plan when/where to meet, and roughly what to do. So far we have:
- OST
- Lilifreid
- SaberKitty
- VinnyQ
- Huey
- Luminous <-- boo, didn't get there
- TANSTAAFL (getting married, may be busy) <-- boo
- TheCritic? <-- double boo
- Mog (unlikely to come) <-- boo
- Antrax
- PuzzleProdigy <-- boo
So, who of you is still in, when can you meet, and what can you do? Since I'm a bum, I can come whenever, stay for as long as I like, and leave whenever. Also, I'm usually up to anything, from IRL mafia to drunken cow-tipping.

I am all for it. We can all get together and go war-protesting in D.C. or something.
About your sleeping arrangement, I need to discuss it with a few people first. Give me a day or two.

Yeah, Mog is unlikely to come since she suffers from a chronic fear of people. But the drunken cow-tipping sounds like a good time. |

| Thursdays-Sundays are better for me, though I might be able to skip a class if ealier in the week really worked for everybody else. If anybody else is in Baltimore proper and wants a ride, I may be able to over one. Unless you scare me a lot. |

Other possiblilities are:
IMAX

Antrax, if you can get to D.C. this weekend, you can make the Cherry Blossom Festival =)
http://www.nationalcherryblossomfestival.org/cms/index.php?id=390
(I dont think I'll be volunteering after all, SK. I couldn't get anybody to do it with me, bunch of ninnies, and not sure if I have the time to spend the whole day there. I might go for a bit in the late afternoon though. Heard the weather is gonna be lovely.)

| Hey all, back from days of IP addressing hell at work. I would be happy to host a party at my house in Burtonsville, MD. Give me some Friday or Saturday evenings to work with and I'll set a date. |

And I checked the aquarium prices. The cheap admission is a winter thing. So it's rather expensive to visit currently. |

If you want until a bit later... June maybe... I can go.
The war will be over by then, but there's always something to protest.

| There is a slight possiblity that I will be in the general area either June 7-12 or 14-19 (possibly a day or two longer). By general area, I mean 45ish minutes away in Annapolis. |

Border issues by car? Increased security on the United States side (which currently is their right adn I agree).
There are signs on the highway near Woodstock warning you of how long your wait will be at the border to GET INTO the US. Leaving the US is much easier. This week, these signs showed 3 hours wait time at the borders in Buffalo, Sarnia and Detroit into the States. Woodstock is more than 2 hours from the nearest crossing. If they're warning you that much in advance, you know that you'll be moving slow. |

If Borodog were to be hanging around the GL anymore, which of course he isn't, since it's far too distracting to get progress made on his thesis, he might consider driving to DC.

Also, May 3rd and 10th are out for me now. |

Yo.
I been mucho busy, didn't know about this till Vinny told me. Ant, as long you give us at least a week in advance we'll be ready for you. End of April, May, June, whatever. But if you come after May, Vinny and I should be settle in to a brand new house with plenty of couches for you to crash in. Otherwise you'll stay in ghetto cramped place with my family. If anything, motels are cheap and I got a few bucks to spare. Don't worry where you're gonna sleep, just be here.
So let us know when and we'll be ready to give you some Asian lovin'. If Hy and Kat could make it that'll be uber cool.
btw, RSA, I ain't give you no bogus number, you prolly jot it down wrong. You could've send me an email to confirm or something before you got here. Like Vinny said, "bum". |

Well maybe for part of it we could do something fun, and fairly inexpensive like the zoo. It has the added benefit of being in a public place, but the drawback of having animals. And we wouldn't want Antrax pulling the dingos out of their cages and putting them out of his misery. Of course there's probably 5 pounds of "Good Meat" on a dingo so it might be a fair trade.
ps. Please nobody call me a "sick puppy" while Antrax is around.

what if you were doing community service? then would your parents let you go?
I'm probably going to tell my parents that i'm doing some Key Club event. If i figure out a way to make our mini-convention community service, then would it be possible to go?

Public place. HA! back in the day, we could only dare to dream.
The first convention was scary. I was going to meet a bunch of people who had never met each other, and may or may not exist. If they didn't, then I'd be stuck with no place to sleep in Florida for a week.
At least with blighty, DC, and Vegas, some of the members had actually met, and could verrify that the others existed. |

while the zoo is [i]ok/i] it's not really that much fun. if we're going in late june, it's going to smell alot. i wouldn't even suggust that we visit the ape house - or near it... it's just *that* bad.
it wouldn't be too expensive to do the sight-seeing thing. visit the random memorials and such. we could rent paddleboats (for liek $10) which isn't too bad. or we could go the new internaitional spy museum. i haven'tbeen there but i heard it was pretty cool (though it is grared toward a younger - hands-on audience)
we could go to the smithsonian- which has lots of cool stuff- we could see an imax which is abour $7.50- and we can go to the air and space museum to see one too. there are regular movies there (attack of the clones and appolo 13) or IMAX movies (Bugs in 3D, T-REX: Back to the Cretaceous, IMAX & Jazz Cafe(at night only)-natural history museum; Infinity Express, The Stars Tonight—Live—Open Your Eyes To The Skies -air and space museum in the einstien planetarium; Straight Up: Helicopters in Action, Space Station, To Fly! -air and apce museum imax theater)
or we could see the immersion cinema- which is $5 a person, but i think it's kinda cool (here's the link) it's like those choose your own adventure things-only in movie form.
both the imax and immersion cinema are like 30min, so it'd be easy to fit in
we could do the DC memorials and stuff- wash monument, cap building, lincoln memorial (and do the reflecting pool pic thingy) there's also the postal museum, but that's only entertaining for like an hour max- but personally, i think it's not worth it unless you've seen the other stuff first. we can't go to the bureau of engraving and printing because they're afraid people will blow them up so that's out(thaty had a pretty cool tour too)
we could to the newseum- which is cool or the holocaust museum, but i don't think we have the time to do either of them.
if anyone has any suggustions, i'd be happy to hear about them.
oh and hy- how do you know we exist? *I* am a figment of your imagination

It doesn't matter if you exist. I *know* that Vinny and Huey exist. I've met them, hell I hugged 'em. If you don't exist, then I'm not stuck in D.C. with no place to stay. Had IS not existed, I would have been stuck in Florida with no place to stay, and no money to find a place (the trip tapped me out.)
But, I have talked to you on the phone, and you sounded like a real person. |

SK, you make me want to go to DC right NOW! I think it's a good plan, if all else fails we can go around and give money to bums. I don't have any problems with any of those dates you mentioned, the weather should be around 70ish around that time (I hope).
Hy, you're assuming we'll let you stay with us.
I'm not sure how my docile asian parents are going to take to a drunken Hy. Although if Kat comes with you she can have any room in the house. You, on the other hand, can pick which cars to sleep in. |

blah- huey, did i make it sound that bad?
anyway- can we start narrowing the dates down a bit? I like the 28th- anyone have a problem with June 28th?
Does the sarcast know if boro- who we know is busily thesising away- would be able to tear hinslef away for a day to mini-convention with us?
I think knowing our numbers would be pretty spiffy- mostly so we can know if we qualify for group rates and can plan around that.
so- sound off if the 28th is ok with you (ant- that sound like an ok date?)
also- anyone have fear of water/boats or small spaces (wash monument) that might influence our event planning?
if we can confirm the date, we can order tickets of most stuff pretty early (like imax).
