OK, this is spawning off of deth's topic, and we probably did it before, too.

Here's how it's gonna work:

Everyone (who wants to) sends me an email at ih8evilstuff@hotmail.com with FIFTEEN nominations each by July 1st. Please incluse your name, the name of each character, the game(s) that they were in(saying "Super Mario Bros. Series" for Mario is fine), and the console(s) that the games can be played on (GCN, PS2, XBOX, NES, PS1, PC, etc.).

I'll take the 64 MOST COMMON names and set up a bracket for us to vote on. Please, be truthful in e-mailing: only 15 nominations PER PERSON, not per e-mail account.

You seriously think there are people so steeped in hatred of me that they will alter their voting just so "my" characters perform poorly?

Really, what possible influence could it have? I thought the only reason for e-mailing was so that the nominations didn't get affected. For instance, you might refrain from mentioning the popular characters because you want to throw some extra obscure characters into the mix.

But such effects would be small in any case, and are minute now that most of the interested people have already submitted. I may well be the last one to submit - which means there's no reason to keep it private.

hey, deth, you did a good thing and all by mailing them....

...except it was to the wrong account.

Oh, I also got an e-mail at "Mon, 30 Jun 2003 23:56:22" (cutting it a bit close there. ) It was nominations from "David T~~~~~" who forgot to put his GL name in the e-mail. David, pleave identify yourself or your votes will not be counted.

Okay, DMT, I matched up your email address w/ your GL name, your votes count.

Now, however, we have a problem. There are 33 characters w/ more than 1 vote. My resolution: Random.org chooses one of the 17 characters with 2 votes. That character is eliminated. I will be glad to read any other possible resolutions. Post them here.

Also, I am ready to start as soon as I can find a way to upload a pic to the net to post here and as soon as I get the promblem above resolved.
