Kain? I had never heard of him. I know some FF characters, but Kain is not one of them.

Actually, it wasn't your fault at all. Link is just super-sweet. In his first incarnation he fought with a sword and a boomerang. A boomerang. A sword and a boomerang. Who can possibly compete with that? boomerang.

This just isn't a real contest at all, is it? I'm far from being a rabid Link fan, but Kerrigan should not have been able to take him. boomerang.

And further, who likes Mario? He doesn't have any personality or character to him at all, so what is there to vote for? Mario really shouldn't have made it past Cloud, much less Sonic.

This is becoming like gamefaqs, people complaining because their favorite character lost. I like Link as much as the next guy, but Kerrigan is just cooler.

My favorite character was not Link, deth. The only thing I found particularly cool about him was that he fought with a boomerang. But Kerrigan? I mean, really, Kerrigan?

And how can Mario be one of your favorites? I mean, what is there to like about him?

Ih8: Nothing. Nothing at all. That's the problem. There's nothing there. Any character of any shape or story could've taken his place in any of his games. He doesn't stand out as being noticable or cool in any way.

Looking back at the opening list, I think Samus Aran or Earthworm Jim probably should've won (I accept that few people can properly appreciate the glory that is Kain).

Look, I don't have to like characters by your standards. I like who I like, and that's that. I only ever had Sonic 1 and 2, and while he was cool, Mario has been in more games that I have enjoyed that I can count.

Kerrigan is the opposite, only 1 game + expansion, but I picked her for her personality, coolness, and story.

I beg to differ, Lucresia. I have enjoyed Final Fantasy games since I played the very first on my NES way back when. But Sephiroth never struck me as a particularly impressive villain. FFVII is definitely scraping the bottom of the FF barrel, as well. It's not as bad as VIII, but I'd rather take any of the others. Kerrigan should have defeated Sephiroth. Crono should have defeated Cloud, too.
