There was a similar letter, where the person responded back in all earnest (falsely, of course), and managed to convince the scam artist that he couldn't send the money unless he received three dollars in the mail from him.. the scam artist sent the three dollars, hoping of course that his victim would forward the thousands of dollars...

I love it when someone cons a con.
