Btw, you didn't actually get last. Your 51 looked like a 57, so I just thought you did.

Of course, I think Lept was playing more pool than putt-putt, so...

Dear God, but I look miserable in that second picture. Even more miserable than everyone else. Possibly I was sulking cause I didn't get any ice-cream...

Anyway, I got home fine and everything, and just wanted to let you know I had a great time, and it was really good to meet you all. Even if you did force me to answer horrible questions about mayonnaise and pickle juice.

But I made you a shirt, Luna. That should make up for it. Though I didn't get it to Mith until last night, so it'll have to be sent to you. He promises me you'll like it... So you sure as hell better. It was lovely to meet you, by the way. Sorry about the mayo.

Well, DPW is home again. Lepton's mom booked his flight for the wrong day and we didn't realize it until now, so he's going to hang out with mith for a day while I get back to work.

They learned all about Texas oil yesterday. It was mildly amusing.

We tried to get DPW to go to the barber, but he just wouldn't have it.

I was hard at work pumping water for the 'roughnecks' while Lepton laughed.

And we couldn't let the Seattle crew out do us... So here's Lepton about to kiss some ass.

Now that I'm back in Texas, here are my comments.

I had more fun that afternoon than I have in a while, or than I really expected to. I was quite surprised by how well we seemed to fit together, and how comfortable I was around a bunch of people I'd never seen before. The quick changes of location were a bit of a shock to my system. In the 24 hours after getting out of church Sunday, I went to Tyler, met people from the internet, came back to Richardson, packed, slept a little, and got on a bus and arrived in Oklahoma, with another set of people, most of them sixth graders, and very few of whom I'd ever met. That took a while to adjust to.

Some of the funniest moments while I was there:
The choice between a can of motor oil and 25 jars of mayonaisse. One scores points in the game by guessing what the consensus will be. Magness was the reader that round, and was so astounded that we chose the motor oil. He informed us that motor oil would kill you, while mayonaisse wouldn't, and we informed him that we'd rather die than have to eat that much mayonaisse.

The subject of portapotties came up in some question. Luna made the statement that anyone who deliberatley knocks one over with the door down, trapping a person inside, shoudl be considered to have violated a basic human right and should be taken out and shot. Magness' prompt response was, Oh, I've done that. We all kind of look at him in disbelief, me included, since I hadn't ever heard that story before, and then mith says "New question, would you rather find out that your boyfriend traps people in portapotties, or..." (Although I would like to point out that he's not my boyfriend. I wear a ring on my finger.)

One of the mafia games I modded... I had insane mafia, insane doc, and a cop who get results for mafia, not doc, making him effectively insane. About halfway into the game, Chris (DPW), announces that he thinks he's the insane doc, because everyone he's selected has died. Everyone else thinks about this, and then lynches mith, the last insane mafia member (they acted as docs, and did not have to be removed for a town victory). Next round there's three people left. Lepton (the cop) votes for DPW, who votes for Lepton. Ben sits there silently for a while, then votes for Lepton. So DPW won the game after confessing that he was the killer.

Anyway, I very much enjoyed meeting y'all, and although I doubt I'll manage to travel very far to a convention in the near future, it'd sure be worth the effort if I could make it.

Edit: Heh, just noticed my title. I informed them all as I was leaving that now that I'd met GLers in real life, surely someone could come up with a title for me... and I guess that's better than nothing

I'm officially free of GLers. I ditched Lepton at mith's house last night, but picked him up this morning and took him to the bus station and sent him on his merry way. And now, even mith is out of town. Squee might be around, but I don't see him much. So now I'm all alone, and rathered relieved to be. I loved having people around here, especially GLers, but trying to keep people entertained in Tyler for a week is a lot of work.

I'm home now. Maybe I'll write up something interesting and horrendously long to make it seem like I didn't just stare at EEEM the whole time.

Good time, great destination, and superb hosts.

I get scared about the prospect of keeping someone entertained in Tyler for a night. But hopefully Lepton didn't have too bad a time.

To add a little background to my little boyfriend-portapotty joke:

1. I *thought* there might be a ring involved (though taking the time to check would have ruined the timing of the joke), but I figured I'd guess on the side of boyfriend.
2. A previous question had been "Would you rather find out your new spouse was 10 years older than you had thought, or was an ex-con?"

I'm still annoyed about the insane Mafia game. Chris admitted that he had killed everyone that had died; Lepton didn't trust me of course, since he had checked everyone but me, and since I was pretty much forced into claiming Cop (since the Cop wasn't dead, and it was down to 4; in any normal situation, I win if I lynch the real Cop). So I don't particularly blame Lepton for killing me, he knew I was lying. Squee on the other hand, he didn't vote for me right off, so I had a chance to explain that everyone was probably insane and we should kill Chris (not Lepton, and if I were normal Mafia killing people, I'd have had to go after Lepton since he was the only one sure I was lying). And, of course, he voted for me, and then Chris *again* admits that he is the killer, and that lynching him would probably be the best course, and Squee votes for Lepton. It was very funny.

For the record, DPW won (well, was on the winning side; Luna was Mafia with him the first game, and won) every game he played, and was evil in all but one (I think). cello and I won the game he modded.

Are you sure we lynched mith? I'm certain I "cured" him in that game. I think I was evil everytime, [edit]Oh, yeah. There was the Dethclassic game[/edit] and finally decided to mod, just so I could stop killing people. I'm sensitive and stuff, and I didn't like murdering everyone. Repeatedly.

And, unlike Lepton, I'm not going to write up something interesting and horrendously long, because all I did was stare at EEEM the whole time.

*rowr*
