Maybe I'm just weird, but I find the GL haunting my dreams a lot. I have lots of strange and twisted dreams, and GLers feature in most of them. I know it's happened to Ningal before, because I remember her telling me in chat one time that she had a dream that I was a lesbian. Yes...
Anyway, my dream last night was particularly vivid, though a lot less weird than my usual standard, and the star was our very own SaberKitty.
In the dream, I woke up to a phone call. "Hi, this is Erin."
Me: "Erin...?" (I think that's SK's name... anyway, it was her name in my dream. )
SK: "You know, SaberKitty from the GL."
Me: "Oh! Hi! What's up?"
SK: "I'm in Australia."
Me: "...Why?"
SK: "You invited me, remember?"
Me: "Oh yeah... in chat that time... I didn't think you would seriously come, but yay! Where are you?"
SK: "I'm at Wollongong Uni. Will you come pick me up?"
Me: "Sure" and we hang up.
It's at this stage that I remember that I can't drive, and even if I could, I don't have a car. So I call all my friends to try and get them to go get her, but I can't get in touch with any of them. It's pouring down rain outside, but SK has been waiting for a while now, so I dash out into the rain and run to my nearest friends' place. I bang on the door, and they let me in, and SK is inside, sitting on the couch. I'm totally stunned, but relieved. I turn to my friends and say "You know Erin?"
They look at me like I'm stupid, and go "EVERYONE knows Erin!"
So we sit around and chat some more, and I ask SK again why she came down. She was like "Actually, I'm here to help your sister give birth to her baby."
And that was when I was jolted awake by a noise outside. Kinda freaky, really, considering the baby WAS born today.
Anyway, do any of you dream about GLers? Any particularly vivid ones stand out in your mind? Tell tell tell.
(I'm hoping we can leave dirty dreams out of this...) (...though I have had ONE very interesting one involving groza and wordcross who, incidentally, kept his hat on the whole time... *runs off laughing*)

Seriously, I can remember only two. One which disqualifies, and the other one involving the death of a GL member (who shall remain unnamed). |

You can't go and post about dreaming the death of a GL member and not tell who it is!
I had a dream about Orbiting once........well, it was not a dream, more of a fantasy........and I was awake.......and naked....and....oh, never mind! |

| I wish I a)had more dreams or b)remembered them more often. I hardly remember my dreams. Though it seems to me that I recall having a dream about a GLer at least once. I couldn't tell you what it was because it's the faintest of instincts. |

*thinks*
Wellll... I've had a couple of disqualified dreams, one death dream, and the following nightmare...
[Background story to nightmare] For a moment, imagine that the GL is a real structure. A large grey stone labyrinth, on a small uninhabited island just off the coast of France. Now imagine that this building is the location of a new reality TV show, also called The Grey Labyrinth. Everyone you know and love from the online GL can be found here. Everyone has their own room, a cubicle almost, in which they sleep, and these rooms uniformly line the endless corridors. There is a central area, circular and wide, where everyone meets during the day, to eat, converse, and indulge in various social activities.
Before you can open the door of your room and join everyone else, you must solve a puzzle to unlock your door. Everyone has the same puzzle, with the same answer. The answer must be input into a small keypad by the door, and if it is correct, the door opens after 30 seconds. If you get it wrong, someone must open your door from the outside when they are released. Woe betide anyone who leaves someone behind...[/Bstn]
So, I'm sat in my room, trying to read the puzzle. It is on a small sheet of laminated white paper. As hard as I try, I can't understand the language that the puzzle is written in, and so I wait for someone to open my door for me. I wait... and wait... and wait... nobody comes. I can hear everyone talking and laughing down the corridor, and I try to call out, but my voice goes unheard.
I am trapped alone in this room for around 7 hours. I don't eat, sleep, or have anything to do but sit and wait. The silence is broken only by the occasional laughter from the corridor.
After 7 hours has passed, the sound of footsteps along the hallway can be heard. I sit up and listen closely. The handle on my door starts to turn, and the door slowly slides open...
And then I wake up. Stupid evil dream. |

1)I originally said--before submission, that is--in my prior post that we should have that thread...with almost those same words. I did a double take: huh? did I not change that? And then I checked.
2)I typed Whoa into the Your UserName box. |

I'm in the same boat as Ktulu. I almost never remember my dreams (I'm assuming I do have them, but just don't recall).
I do vaguely remember dreams featuring GLers, always ones that I have met in person, and I vividly recall one where the key feature of the dream was the absence of a specific GLer (As in, "Where is this person? They're supposed to be here, but they're not"). |

The only dream I can remember having about GLers was some time ago, shortly after I began posting. I don't remember much about it other than that it involved an interesting-looking apartment building, and I was moving into the building, and some GLers, including mith and Luna (and possibly Hy; I don't remember who they all were) were helping me move. (Either that or another GLer was moving into the building, and some other GLers, including me, were helping him move.)
I do recall being interested in exploring the building. |

I had another GL dream last night and got all excited about posting it... but now I forget...
I had a FREAKY one last week or so - the Kt was in it too. But it's kinda freaky, and strange, and loaded with biblical references and apocalypse-type stuff... so yeah. *tries to remember the dream from last night* |

| I just had a flash of my dream, though I still don't remember the whole thing. I was in some kind of competition at a public swimming pool, but the contest had nothing to do with swimming... and it was RSA and I versus Baba and Courk. I was sitting at the top of this shiny white, big staircase. Could have been the grandstand at the pool, except that it was overhanging the water. And at one end of this construct, I'm sitting, and RSA is sitting on the step below me, examining my left leg closely, for some reason. I don't remember exactly what it was about, but I had the distinct impression he was checking for flaws. I looked over at the other end, and Courk and baba were herding in a bunch of small children. That's what I remember from the dream. Sorry for the rambling monoparagraph, my keyboard is doing that THING again. |

It is clear to me that your dream represents fear regarding RSA's fidelity, or lack thereof. I will mention a few key points.
You are at a contest, at a swimming pool. This is clearly a swimsuit competition, and RSA is judging among yourself, Baba, and Courk. Your misinterpretation that you and RSA were a team is your conciousness fighting with reality. You want there to be no problems, you want to be on a team with RSA. The leg inspection is a further pointer in this direction. He was "checking for flaws" for goodness' sake!
The leg inspection combines with other events to create another meaning, too. Close inspection of leg musculature and herding would both be linked to dog shows. This is another example of RSA judging among the three of you.
It is very interesting that your mind came up with the frameworks of swimsuit competition and dog show. Both would seem to indicate that you consider RSA to be quite shallow, and that his choice will not be based on mental characteristics, only on external qualities - he considers you nothing more than a beautiful body, or a faithful pet.
One further detail: you fear Courk much more than Baba. Your first mention of the pair represents your concious impression, you are guarded, and you want to mention Courk last, as though she is the more insignificant. But when you are fully into the rhythm of your report, and conciousness is somewhat subdued, Courk gets mentioned first among the pair, and it becomes clear that Courk is the main competitor.
Recommendation: It is clear your fears, justified or not, will put considerable strain on the relationship, and eventually tear it asunder. You should break it off immediately, so there will be no hard feelings, and instead hook up with casinopete. |

Ok, so last night I had another dream about the 'real' Labyrinth. Most of my dreams are as vivid on my senses as real life, so this is really starting to scare me now. Here's the dream...
This time, the layout and location of the GL was the same, but what happened was very different. Instead of having to solve a puzzle to unlock your room door, everyone was allowed to enter the main section of the labyrinth at 10 minute intervals. Plus, I actually got in and started to socialise with various GL-ers, as well as taking a look around the central room.
About 1/4 of the wall was glass, to let light in and to accomodate some doors out to the large garden. The walls and floor were still grey, but pictures of flowers and abstract art dotted the room (I think a couple of the pictures were by Bambi). A small kitchen area was to one side, and this was covered in pure white tiles and stainless steel surfaces. A few leather sofas and a coffee table were placed in front of a widescreen TV, shaped to the circular curvature of the wall, and rather high up.
I remember seeing Mackay playing something on the piano, and DP having a chat with Boro on one of the sofas. There was a football game going on outside, and some of the players included wordy, Lepton, mith, Luna, Orbiting, and Bearty. Sessie was drinking coffee, and Merc was on the phone to someone. Hy and Antrax were playing a huge game of Connect 4, for some odd reason... oh, and lumi came over and started talking to me, but I can't remember anything she said.
What do you think? Am I insane? |

Kd: That sounds really nice.
Ktulu: I was going to pretend to be upset that you just all but accused me of being insane. Then I remembered that I am insane.
Dreams: I had one last night... there's been an ongoing series of dreams where I keep dying... it's weird... I only remember them for a little while after I wake up... I just woke up, so I guess I've got that working to my advantage. Anyway, in each of these dreams, I'm put in a near-death situation with another GLer, and if I screw up, I end up dead. I ALWAYS screw up. This one was a bit freaky though. I had to jump, from a cliff, in order to grab onto another, lower cliff, where Kd and RSA were trapped. Firstly, I was supposed to have a bungee cord. I realised after I jumped that I forgot it. I managed to grab the edge of the cliff though, and Kd tried to drag me up onto the ledge, but she was all small and stuff and couldn't pull me up. I told her, rather irritably, to leave me alone, and managed to hoist myself onto the ledge. I then asked where RSA was, though I don't know how I could have rescued them, on account of I forgot the rope. Kd pointed to something on the edge of the ledge, in a little hollow in the cliff face. Upon closer inspection it turned out to be a giant skull. I called out, and RSA answered, he was indeed trapped inside the thing. I asked him why he didn't just climb out one of the eye sockets, and he said that even though it seemed to be pretty securely fixed, he was scared if he climbed out (there was a sheer drop underneath the "face" of the skull) it would tip forward and send him plummeting to his death.
So I climb in, though I can only just squeeze through the eye socket, and tell him I'll act as a counterbalance and climb out afterwards, because I'm not scared that it'll tip me. I mean, this thing is pretty solid. So I go and lean all my weight against the back of this giant skull, and RSA climbs out. Then as I go to follow, the whole thing comes loose and falls to the ground. Heh. Splat, and the like. That was when I woke up.
There was another dream before that, too, let me see how much of it I remember before I post it. |

Warning: Harry Potter-related Dream Ahead
In my other dream, all the GLers were at Hogwarts! We were all about to join the school, and were getting ready to be sorted. But for some weird reason there was a Sorting Shower instead of a Sorting Hat. So we'd go in to get clean, one at a time, and when we turned the water off, there would be a towel waiting for us, and the towel would be the colour of the house we were sorted into!
I can't remember much though, only standing in line, waiting for a shower. I didn't see any naked GLers. Though I saw some leaving the showers in their colour-coded towels. DP's was blue.
...Yeah. *is weird* |
