And the killer can select anybody, even if the locations of the killer and the victim are in opposite corners of the town?

Another question: I understand that by now 5 town residents are dead already. Am i wrong, and if so, why?

Sorry for the long delays, unfortunately there will be another. My mother is scheduled for an operation this week that is very important and also my grandmother who was very close to me died over the weekend. All of my games will be paused for about a week, possibly longer as this is also my last week of classes and finals are approaching as well.
