My embassy is open. I'm obe of the new players, so the fact I haven't replied to your emails yet doesn't mean I hate you, just that I'm slow and it takes me forever to make sense from your emails. At least I didn't get turkey again =P

Why can't you just use the same map ChienFou used? It had a lot of cool names. And it looked nicer, too.

Well, the I'm generating the map from the same program.
As far as the names are concerned, I've stuck them on a seperate map (Click on the "Blank Map" link) to reduce clutter. However, if it is the general consensus that it is better to have names on the same map as the units, I will put them back on. |

It would be helpful if the orders were published on the site. judge format would be fine
eg Germany, F Den-Kie, A Mun H, A Ber-Kie
I for one shall be tracking my game with realPolitik, and sometimes one has to guess otherwise |

Well, the orders are as generated from RealPolitik. Since there is no technical difference between a hold and not receiving an order, I didn't bother to change it.
Would you prefer it if I did change those to HOLD? |

| There are differences between NMR and Hold if a unit is dislodged. This can't happen in the opening move so it doesn't matter. I mark an NMR if there was genuinely a NMR. It's not that I don't love the EuroFizz swilling citizens of Muenchen - I just don't want them going on holiday for six months in North africa and tasting the delights of the kasbah, they'd be totally impossible to control if they did. |

| What difference does it make to dislodgement whether a unit holds or recieves no order? I didn't think that, in RealPolitik, you could tell a unit to hold. |

Use the move Icon, and double click the unit. It now appears as X Aaa Hold
14.3 CIVIL DISORDER
If a player leaves the game, or fails to submit orders in a given Spring or Fall season, it is assumed that civil government in his country has collapsed. His units hold in position, but do not support each other. If they are dislodged, they are disbanded. No new Units are raised for this country. A player who temporarily fails to submit orders may, of course, resume play if he returns to the game and still has some units left. It is probably more desirable, if sufficient persons are present, to allow a person who has not previously had a country (or failing that, whose country has already been eliminated from play) to replace any player who has left the game. Players should decide what policies they will follow in this regard in advance of starting the game.
I've not checked Realpolitik to see if this applies to a single unit with a NMR

Ahh...I didn't realise that you could give a HOLD order to a unit in RealPolitik. I see now that you can.
As I interpret those rules, I would assume that it only applied if no moves whatsoever were received for a particular player. In the case of RealPolitik, I notice that it does not implement that rule for either a single unit or all units when they are dislodged.
However, I will ensure that HOLD orders are issued appropriately in future. |

Hmmm...I stand corrected...RealPolitik does implement the rules for civil disorder and automatically disbands dislodged units that had received no order.
I can't believe I'd never noticed that before! |
