The year is 2075. After uniting a battered worn torn world suffering through the aftermath of WWV, the Geneva Council succeeded in a task that had once been thought impossible, uniting the entire world under one government.

Recognizing the global overpopulation problem, the Geneva Council formed the Earth Space Agency with the initial task of creating and maintaining colonies on the Moon and Mars. Several months after the successful establishment of a lunar colony, the colonists led a bloody rebellion that took over a year to put down. Seeing the ESA's enforcement problem, the Council created Earth Space Force, a division of the ESA, with the task of maintaining order among the colonies. Following the successful establishment of Mars, ESA was reorganized to fight corruption and greed and eventually folded into the military-run ESF.

The colonists on Mars protested and rebelled, feeling that the move would, for lack of a better term, screw them over. Since then, the Mars colonies have been declared rogue colonies by the Geneva Council, and a bitter war ensued as the Red Panthers (ie: Mars Rebels) began gaining support on Earth.

It is now 2155. The war has been in a stalemate for several years, with occassional fights between the RP's and ESF, but life for the most part goes on. A wormhole has been discovered between the Earth and Mars, and initial probes indicate habitable planets on the the other side.

The Game
This is an RPG.
There will be two factions (to begin with) the ESF and the RP's. I will be the mod. To begin, there will be two player-controlled ships, the ESF Astra, and the MRP Demos. Posts will be made in the third person.
Players should sign up in the thread and send me character information (to the mafia_mod hotmail address) in the following format:

NAME:

CHARACTER NAME:

CHARACTER OCCUPATION:

CHARACTER DESCRIPTION:

BRIEF HISTORY:

HOW DID YOUR CHARACTER GET ASSIGNED TO THE <insert desired ship here>:

NOTE: You may play as multiple characters.

The Rules
NO SUPER CHARACTERS!
All characters are subject to approval by myself and a possible co-mod.

Do not use another player's character without their permission. This includes the killing of controlled-characters.

No Powergaming!
Example: Ben is playing as Bob. Jen is playing as Joe. Ben cannot post *Bob punches joe in the face, rendering him unconscious*
Instead, Ben must post, "Bob swings toward Ben's face" and then Jen will post the result of that swing (no unhittable chars! Make it interesting!). However, in the interest of fun and speed and such, players may make a post together.

The mod and any co-mods/temp mods are GOD! What they say, goes!

Possible Roles
ESF
Various Space Marines
Second-in-Command of Astra
various crewmembers (ex: comm officer, chief of security, engineer, etc)

RP's
Second in Command of Demos(commander reserved for co-mod)
various crewmembers

More to come later.

Usually, I try to take one day at a time, but lately, several days have attacked me all at once.

NAME: Chris

CHARACTER NAME: Captain Ryan "Mac" MacKenzie

CHARACTER OCCUPATION: Space Marine, Commanding officer of ESF Astra

CHARACTER DESCRIPTION: Ryan is 5'6", weighs about 145 lbs, but is
pretty muscular. He has brown hair thats in a military crewcut and
brown eyes. He might be quiet at times, others he'll be the "in-your-
face" kinda guy. Although he's small, he's a force to be reckoned
with in combat. He can be quite stealthy and can fit into small
spaces. He always wears an old-fashioned 8-in K-BAR fighting knife on
his ankle, and a just as old .45 Beretta on his hip. He is also
incredibly loyal. He's been through OCS (an upstairs "accident") and
completed the Marine Force Recon school. He is also a latent telepath.

BRIEF HISTORY: Ryan was born and raised in a small town in North
Carolina. He joined the Marines just a few months before the
colonists began the movement for freedom. His immediate family consists of a mother, father and
big sister. He has degrees in Mechanical and Electrical Engineering.
Loves computers, very computer saavy.

HOW DID YOUR CHARACTER GET ASSIGNED TO THE ESF ASTRA: Not sure,
somebody up the chain of command has been doing him favors.
----------------------------------------------------------------
CHARACTER NAME: Robert Gallagher

CHARACTER OCCUPATION: MRP Demos Security Chief

CHARACTER DESCRIPTION: He's 5'11", 175 pounds, extremely muscular, he has dark blonde hair and gun-metal blue eyes. He's a good shot and can handle most weapons. He's slightly above average in regular and hand-to-hand combat but an excellent shot. He's able to put several rounds in a half-inch cluster from 1500 meters.

BRIEF HISTORY: Gallagher was born and raised on Mars. His family was wiped out by an unknown plague, for which he blamed Earth. Joining the Red Panther's at 17, he discovered he was a natural shot.

HOW DID YOUR CHARACTER GET ASSIGNED TO THE MRP DEMOS: He was handpicked for this crew and ship, but not yet told anything of its mission.
